Urine is effectively sterile in people without a UTI. Normal urine has low levels of bacteria but they are very dilute.
The human mouth at any one time is home to roughly 30 different species of bacteria, including many that cause disease.
We love swapping spit with each other, but will bend over backwards to keep from contacting urine.
