I like it this way. It reminds me of when I still got my baseball state championship ring even though I rode the bench

I mean, yall are still claiming Omaha from last year so I don't see the difference with this.
So, yes. Making the CWS and NCAAT are both accomplishments worth bragging over, even if you end up falling short.

FIFY, Ole Miss.
Seriously though, they are called play in games. You are playing your way into the tourney. Doesn't count until you make the field of 64.

I never said worth bragging over, I asked if it counts as an appearance.

I thought the play in games were to complete the field of 64 so the 1st round can take place. I may be way off here and if so please correct me so I will know how it works.

yes it counts
They are going back to calling it play in, first rd, second rd next yr.
Instead of first four, second rd, third rd.

They changed the format a couple of years back. The original 1 and later two play-in games were a prelude to actually adding 4 more teams to reach 68. It is technically referred to by the Nc2A as the first round now, albeit just 4 additional games.

it counts. just like LSU's 1935 national championship in basketball counts for my internal record keeping purposes.
