I knew when the coaching spot opened up for State, they were going to go straight after Howland...and we wouldn't.

Hopefully we make a legit push for Marshall, Smart, & Miller.

Howland may have produced many NBA players and went to 3 consecutive Final Fours. But, his brand of basketball is slow

If State hires Howland and we get snubbed by Marshall, and end up hiring a Grant like equivalent, I will be soooooooo pissed

Does anyone think we will try to contact Marshall early in the week to gauge his interest?

Or, have we already contacted him?

Lucky just posted that Marshall continues to be the top target and sources close to the situation feels that at the moment the odds are favorable. He also posted that sources think that the win today doesn't slow down Bama momentum in getting Marshall. Situation is fluid so things could always change.

All of this Marshall talk and we will still end up with Prohm, or worst

I, for one, don't believe all the "in the loop" info that gets passed around in these coaching searches. Marshall may well be the target, but I don't think anyone posting on a message board knows more than that.

Surely we've at least tried to connect on LinkedIn.

This is the truth. Marshall's agent was probably the first person they called, but he's not a realistic candidate for us. He can have any job he wants. He'll hold out for a true basketball school like Indiana.

TIFWIW, but Hoop Dirt has Prohm as a "hot" name.

• ALABAMA: Steve Prohm has been “hot” here. He is an Alabama alum (worked for David Hobbs at UA as a student). I am hearing that we will have more info here once Murray State wraps-up their NIT run. They play Tulsa tomorrow night.

This! The hustle and intensity was just incredible to watch. These guys aren't NBA lottery picks they just work their butts off on the court. Impressive.
