so Lesster didn't spend the pre-game month preaching that bama would have revenge on their mind? he didn't "see that coming."??
your angle is that bama's revenge factor was greater than the first undefeated Miles team and a bcsnc victory. one would think lsu would be more motivated than bama.

To the OP's point, Saban should have a better shot than everybody else to win one in the next couple of years. I wouldn't bet against Miles winning another one. The Big 10 mentality with SEC athletes has spawned a slew of titles in the past dozen years or so between Meyer, Saban and Miles.

In the 11 (not including LSU vs Bama) regular season games played during the 2011 season, Alabama's averaged margin of Victory was 29.91 ppg (329 /11) LSU's was 29.82 (328/11). LSU played No. 3 Oregon and at No. 16 West Virgina. Alabama played a mediocre Penn state outside of conference. 1/9/12 aside surely your delusional fan base can't possibly think you all had a better team.
We all know we had the better team that year and not one thing you say can make us feel different. It's not delusion when in your opponents backyard you beat the ever living shite out of the team going for best of all time. Spin it any way you like but we will just agree to disagree.

1/9/12 aside? You can't put that game aside. It happened. Your program and your fan base still haven't fully recovered.
Say whatever you want about margin of victory throughout the season etc, but your team played a team with equal motivation of a national championship (don't give me that "revenge" is a greater motivator than a title) and you were thoroughly dominated in a way NO other BCS title game loser was dominated. You crossed the 50 ONCE (late in 4th ate when game was over), had less than 100 yards of total offense, and got shut out. I don't care if it was a "mulligan" game. If Lsu was truly the best team it shouldn't have mattered if they played ten times. The "best team" doesn't get dominated like that. Period.

I am just fine with him beating LSU every year. The epic melts after that game makes this site worth wild.

To answer the question..... yes, ole Saban will win another NC before he retires. I love how every Bama fan thinks that every LSU fan is butt hurt over Saban or whatever other childish term you call it. BLUF, Saban is an outstanding coach and I wish that he would have never left LSU but sh!t happens.
Next year is a new year and every fan will pull for their team. Let to fun begin and see who's in the playoffs when it's all said and done.

You aren't one of those who actually thinks Bama wasn't the best team in the country in 2011 are you
Shouldn't the best team at least win there division in their conference? Knowing LSU had to prove themselves again put them in a hole. Yes it is the NCG but that was ridiculous and no one but Saban would have been given that chance.

It may have happened at some point in history, but not when they had a good coach and not on such a massive stage with so much to play for and in their own backyard. I can't recall a game that Bama was supposedly one of the top two team in the country and got shutout in the biggest game of the year with a national title on the line. I can't recall a Bama team being held to less than 100 yards of offense and only crossing the fifty once - much less being housed like that in their own state. I can't recall any team dominating Bama like that during Bama's recent run back among the top teams in the country.
That happened to les in his 7th season at LSU. He wasnt some new head coach who took over a struggling program. You guys talk about having to play Bama a second time (never mind that Florida played FSU twice in their 1996 championship season without either team complaining. Bama beat Florida in Gainesville in 1999 but had to play them again in Atlanta for sec championship. Bama won that "mulligan" game and beat Florida twice in same season - proving it could be done in sec.
Lsu had an established coach in his 7th season, one of the best teams in program history, a month to prepare, and the game in their own home state. You had many, many advantages in that game and fans told us for weeks that Bama didn't stand a chance. No one complained until you were utterly dominated and you haven't stopped complaining since. But no. Bama has not been dominated like that.

Laugh if you want but knowing they beat Bama at Bama should have been enough to prove the Gumps didn't deserve another chance. Wouldn't expect a hog fan to understand. How long has it been since the hogs won a NC? Now that's funny!!!!!!

Who knows? It's more likely that he will win another than it is that he wont. He lost by 7 to the eventual national champion in the inaugural CFB playoff last year, so it's not like he's far from even having a shot at it like some coaches.
So if losing by 7 to the eventual national champion is something to hang a hat on, when does the banner go up in Blacksburg, Virginia?

Hold on, lemme get my crystal ball out and check.

It didn't help Florida when they re-matched against Alabama in Atlanta after losing in the Swamp in '99. Nor did it help Tennessee much when they lost to Auburn in the re-match in Atlanta in '04.

only bama fans truly believe that if they don't make the SEC title game, they still deserve a NC shot.

We deserved that shot.....Bama was without a doubt the most qualified team to play in the game...there is no question. The BCS was formed to put the best two teams in the championship game. Conference title games had nothing to do with it.
