While it will be tough to fill his shoes, they have resources galore. You're kidding yourself.

bullshite. how old are you? do you recall how much bama struggled after stallings and before saban. if saban had not taken the job they would still be struggling. they spent about 15 years and 4 or 5 coaches before saban. they were VERY lucky that saban didn't like the nfl.

They certainly struggled post-Stallings.

However, grandpa, don't forget that they have had five national championship winning coaches - we're not talking about a flash in the pan here.

Alabama has had 5 coaches win National Championships - there's stability and consistancy in that program. Alabama is a national brand with plenty of resources at their disposal. They aren't immune to having an administration frick things up for a period of time (15 yrs of poor hires and probation) - but overall, they live up to their elite status.

We struggled between Stallings and Saban, but it was only a span of 10 seasons (Stallings left after 1996, Saban arrived in 2007). During that stretch, we still won an SEC championship in 1999, and would have played for one in 2002 if we weren't on probation. Our situation from 2001-2006 was mostly due to the probation. Who in their right mind would have taken the job during that period knowing the sanctions he was walking into?
