A&M was a small, all male military school. LSU would not come to College Station to play. It's the same reason big schools won't play at small schools today.
Explains why Aggy plays in Lafayette and Shreveport

Series record. 30-20-3
Hint. Ags do not have 30.
All LSU all the time.

Yeah and I could say LSU is 5-5 during the regular season against bama the past 10 years. It doesn't change the fact they own our arse

Then what is so significant about 1974?
1974 ends a 14 year period where we played every year (yes, all in BR), where LSU went 12-1-1 against aTm. OP wanted to ignore that stretch.
Aggies went 8-4 against LSU from 1974-1995.

It's the first year it became a home and home series. Prior to that, almost all of the games were played at LSU.
Only because before 1980 College Station only had a dirt road going to it and nobody wanted to travel to that shithole
