Just a personal sentiment. Not arguing.

I think you are about right. The Rams are and will ALWAY'S be a far 2nd choice to the Cardinals in STL, I don't have to live there to know that. Hell they really aren't much more popular than the Blues if even that much.

My response was more to the point of what a business owner should do in regards to an NFL franchise as a business entity. Kronke being the owner in question, and I understand why his "support the team or we're leaving" threats are creating such animosity from the STL crowd, you're talking about a short term team w/ flash in the pan success. That's not what the Cardinals franchise is, in fact it's the exact opposite of that.

He's in no way attempting to endear the Rams to local fan base, and he probably knows he's bluffing to a degree, since the Rams won't have any large immediate support in LA. The left coast really isn't a football mecca or haven, it has pocket franchise support, it's just that the population is so huge those pockets represent a lot of people.

The sports industry is changing, in large part thanks to the change in the media industry. It's becoming a very tough marketplace to develop new "crowd turnout" support, esp in the NFL, I think the days of owners of mid tier or lower franchises holding up the local fan base for the billions to build them a new stadium are going to end, and very soon. I'd imagine someone like Kroenke has some astute business analyst working for him that know this as well, which is why I expect he is a hurry to force a deal one way or the other, the pot isn't going to get any sweeter.
