20 straight losses to AP top 25 opponents. You can't justify that. You can't blame people for complaining. If you are content with being mediocre then that's fine but don't be condescending to the fans who want and expect better.

Hi Fellas.. nothing I can do but shake my head. Given your comments, I know where you stand. Like I said, I don't expect you to change your opinion.. what can I say.. we are a camp divided.. and with every loss the division will be reinforced.. same with politics and other walks of life. I read Cecil Hurt on several games we won this season (all via ESPN). My opinion is he should not even write about Alabama basketball. I don't know when he gave up, but I know for sure it was before those 3 wins he tweeted about. There are some leaders that draw their foot in the sand and there are some that try to pick up the pieces and put the puzzle back together. All I will say is I am for a good season still and success. You guys do the complaining.. I know you are better at it than I am.
I really don't know how to respond to this post. Why should our opinion change? What has Grant shown us that should give us hope? Grant has been given every opportunity to succeed. Eventually you have to stop hoping and start demanding success.

Mike S was shown the door in less time than AG has been at Bama. Why? There was no progress being made. I do see a little progress being made this year in that the team seems to like each other an there are no energy vampires. But I don't think the progress is enough to keep him around. At least Mike S had probation to overcome. Carry on and keep fighting the good fight.

Because obviously the fans not hoping and believing enough is the reason for the bad basketball, not the actual coaches or players. Tidehawk is probably one of the mods on Tidefans that bans people on the drop of a hat for a critical comment

Hopefully we go ahead and lose the next 3 or 4. I don't even want a bubble team now. Fire Grant.

I've never seen a team look so consistently cold from a scoring stand point than Alabama in Grant's tenure. His offense doesn't have anything rhythm, its consistently lethargic, too many mental errors (bad passes, stupid turnovers, and too many fouls), and questionable late-game calls.
Sorry Grant, you can't even get the student section to sell out, and there's an enrollment of 36,000 at UA. Your marketing sucks, offense sucks, defense isn't as good anymore, and you've had 1 tournament appearance in 6 years. Oh and you're paid like a top 20 HC.

A good fan, in my opinion, is one who is not afraid to give or accept an accurate, reasonable assessment of a program or portion of a program. Really, to not do so can be injurious to the program.
Cecil Hurt is not there to be your sunshine pumping jounalism monkey. He's doing a fine job.
Quite honestly, people like you scare me. I can take the average sunshine pumper. However, one who not only refuses to acknowledge valid dissenting opinions but seeks to silence and shame the dissenting is very troubling. It's a good thing that fans as myopic as you are marginalized and not allowed to poison the entire fanbase.

U guys have to be patient with Tidehawk. I think this is AG's uncle.

Sorry, but the way we lost to UK and the loss to USCe are unacceptable. Especially after SC lost to Auburn. That loss is looking like it is going to end up being a bad one.
I'd rather just be done with Grant and hopeful for the future at this point. Or we keep him and keep doing this same crap every year.

I disagree. He is clearly Bill Battle.

It can be said of an athlete that "he has it or he doesn't"
As someone who has worked as a collegiate coach, I can tell you a coach "has it or he doesn't"
The bottom line is the system you have for recruiting, developing players, practicing, and winning games works or it doesn't. Players leaving the program early doesn't matter. Circumstances don't matter. A coach has to plan for stuff like that. The system isn't just an offense or style of play. Its everything.
After 5 seasons, you know if your system works. Grant's system is broken. He needs to throw the one he has in the trash and start over. This doesn't need to be at Alabama

I agree with this thread!

Yep. Everyone is allowed one-off situations. An injury here. Transfer there. After several seasons, you kind of are who you are. When you're being paid elite money, you're expected to have a program in place that can weather those type of storms to a certain degree.
