Currently there is an NCAA rule that says you need 12 teams, minimum, to have a CC game. The beev12 has already petitioned to be exempted from that rule but, afaik, that lifting has not happened.
If the NCAA is now basically ran by the Power 5 conferences, why would the other 4 conferences want to lift that rule for the beev12?
Back to the other question what "quality programs" will the beev12 add? They had 4 quality programs leave and have added 2 that are barely significant. Who will they add? UAB?

You need to realize that the only poll that means anything is the last one.

when the beev12 adds UAB and South Dakota State that will put them over the top in conference SoS,,, right?

I actually read an article the other day someone had on Facebook saying the Memphis was looking really hard are joining the Big XII. There a decent basketball school, but thats about all you can say.
Edit: If was expanding and I were them, I'd be trying to get NIU as well. Both expand their territory a little and can easily fit in north and south divisions.

Are the best two teams in the nation in the field of four?
Yes.
So, what exactly did they get wrong?
Yes.

Generally a field of four is the best four. I didn't realize as long as the best 2 were in the other 2 could drawn from a hat.

Considering the Big12, I wonder what the opinion will be in years where they get a team into the final 4 only because front running teams lose in their conference championship games.

Not true. That would hinder the goal of the field of four.
Namely, to ensure that the top two teams -- and by extension the number one team -- have a chance to play. By selecting the best four, you increase your chances that the best two are definitely in there somewhere.
I don't think any expansion to 6 or 8 would increase those chances in even a minor way.
People arguing over who is the eighth best team in the nation will be the death of college football.

As long as you have 5 conferences it'll be the same issue every year.

How did they "fall" 3 spots though? Just because they played a 2-10 team while others played tougher competition? Bama didn't fall when they played Western Carolina and others played tougher teams. Is that not the same?
This may be the first time I have agreed with Bama fans. The way the whole thing played out was ridiculous. Everybody can tell its about the 4 big name big money schools being in

Go with 6.
The only way to do it. The present four team "playoff" system process is illogical and flawed to the point of absurdity. ... Even the BCS selection method is better - more objective & unbiased, using thorough, concrete data - until a legitimate 6 or 8 team playoff method, which includes all major conference champions, is implemented. Without a doubt, this method is the most rational, impartial, accurate, and valid way of determining the teams most deserving of a playoff spot as well as the national champion.

Huge copout by putting Ohio State in.
Personally I believe they went with tradition ($) over this year exclusively. OSU has the bigger marquee name and tradition and bigger fan base. Baylor has been trying to get more national respect but their tendency to blow bnig games in recent years hurt them. And TCU has had this one great season after years of mediocrity recently.
Still should have been Baylor but BAMA/OSU will get much better ratings and tickets will sell more quickly.

How does the only major undefeated team wind up as the #4 seed? Especially with the best OOC schedule in the country.

Sound a lot like 2011. Oklahoma St earned it on the field and was passed up for tradition and brand name

Guess you have missed the part where they said all season that every week was a blank slate.
Last week's rankings were meaningless.

Yes this is it. The bloggers on this board are really showing their naivete.
The Yankee media been pushing for this long as I can remember. How many embarrassing losses will it take by OSU before the world says enough.
