I'm not talking about number of seats. Do you honestly think Legion field is a nice stadium that you would want to go to every week to watch a football game?

You're wasting your time with that ignorant shite stain. He knows what UAT did here was wrong, that's why he's so defensive about this issue. He's just "got too much Bama in him" to be honest about it.

I just don't understand how anyone can look at that complete shithole, in an awful part of town, and think, "Oh yea, I'd love to go see a game over there every Saturday in the fall."

This whole fricking thing is retarded as frick. All these people pretending to give two shits about what happened to UAB just to have a chance to say frick Bama. I guess any reason is good as any when you truly hate something. Doesn't make it any less pathetic.
Nope. Not about Bama. About the purpose of public universities and the city of Birmingham.

Nobody thinks a day at legion is nice. Which is problem #1 on a long list of problems and why the UAB football experiment was a fools errand to begin with.

Defensive? No shite, we would be defensive. If someone is continually blamed for something they're likely to be defensive. I don''t claim to know what went on behind the scenes, but it doesn't affect me one way or another. I do want to know where the outrage is for the two other UAB programs that were shut down. I think those athetes will have a harder time finding another school.

I've been to some UAB games and I have been to every Birmingham Bowl except one. It is a terrible venue in desperate need if either refurbishment or to be torn down. If the UAT board had let them build the small on campus stadium UAB wanted, and had donor support for, I have no doubt they'd have been above to fill it up most of the time.

That small stadium came with a 75 million dollar price tag. The better answer would have been for the city of Birmingham and UAB to find some common ground for a stadium.

The purpose of a public university is to subsidize a $20M football program loss every year, at the expense of its academic mission?
That's the most fricked up thing I've ever heard.

The city was in support and UAB had donors lined up,UAT board blocked it.

I guess you'll just have to spend your Saturday supporting AU instead of cheering like hell for the now shuttered UAB program...
Oh...
Wait...
Oh...
Wait...

Your problem is that you actually believe UAB had the donor support for a $75M stadium. You are probably also the kind of person that believes in Ponzi schemes and African lottery winnings.

The same "mission" that's trying to shut down the undergrad program at UAB? Yea, that's what's best for that public university.

If UAB had all these donors that everyone seems to think they suddenly have, I don't think they would have been in the financial situation they were in. But again, I don't pretend to know the background of all of this.

Dude is sorta eat up with the bama.
Sorta pitiful when it makes people so blind they support bullshite like the Uab situation. Like sacrifice personal integrity and honesty for no reason.

Never stopped me from going to UAB games.
ETA: Doesn't stop people from going to the magic city classic. Or the bowl game every year.

You should really understand the background here before putting your 2 cents in.
