Muschamp left because he saw 2008 coming, and he had a bit of a scuffle with Jay Jacobs.

How much does Brian VanGorder make now? I'm sure AU could bring him back. Wasn't he supposed to save AU last time Gus needed a sidekick?
Well, would you look here...another misinformed Alabama fan. No, Brian Van Gorder was hired at defensive coordinator when Scot Loeffler was hired as offensive coordinator. Both were on staff in 2012. Gus Malzahn left for Arkansas State after the 2011 season.
And just like your DBs, you're a little late covering.....

When Boom was last at AU, didn't he leave for the same title at another school? If he loves AU so much, why would he have left?

whatever anyone pays him is just that much less that UF has to pay out
I thought this too, but I was corrected. Evidently as part of a resignation agreement, UF is paying him 2mil/year either way...anything additional is icing on the cake.

What would that say about how upper tier assistants view A&M and USCe in comparison to AU if he take the AU job for less money than the others offered?
WTF does this even mean? If If If. You're just making up shite. Weak attempt

quote:Yes, he left for the defensive coordinator position at Texas, just like Gene Chizik did. Almost positive they paid more and offered more of an opportunity at a national championship. Mack Brown also told Will Muschamp he could be head coach in-waiting.

A lot has changed since then on a national landscape.

Well, it wasn't exactly the same position. It had the "head coach in-waiting" tag on it.

Sorry, I'm sure the other 3-4 guys covered your ignorance sufficiently.

Probably too old to be able to remember, but pretty sure he didn't get that title till he had been there a couple years. I'm sure your Auburn histoy purists will be here to correct ya.

Did Auburn, A&M, & USCe leave the SEC without anyone noticing? Or was this not posted on the rant?
There's an active coaching changes board... I'd say this qualifies for the board's criteria.

I love people that bitch about "wrong board" when this is not that far fetched for tRant. Your "wrong board" post do much less for the board than this topic does. I mean we have a thread going with decent insight and people chime in "wrong board". Man, that really brings a lot to the table

but pretty sure he didn't get that title till he had been there a couple years.
But I'm sure you didn't think that was discussed during his interview. They just went ahead and handed him the spare keys to the kingdom after only being in Austin for 10 months without any prior negotiations.

which is why I say Boom goes to Cock country with the agreement that he'll take over for SOS in a couple years.

maybe he can pick up a pointer or two from OBC on running the offense, couldn't hurt right?

the OP, a fan of USCe, was mocking AU for offering Muschamp less than A&M and USCe supposedly offered. My question is, IF Muschamp takes AU for less $$, doesn't that tell you he views AU as a better situation? Of course it does. So why would you mock AU at this point? AU is the better DC job than A&M or USCe.
