Hey Gators...want Miles..?

I don't think you guys have a whole lot to worry about when it comes to Les leaving LSU. He'll be there for many more years to come.

Firing Muschamp was a huge mistake that will set back the Gators for years.

Miles will be in Baton Rouge for another 2 years max. He las lost a good portion of the fanbase and many of the power brokers at LSU are not in his corner. I don't know if he'll be fired, but I would be willing to bet that right now there are goings on behind the scenes to put together enough cash for his buyout. He will be given next year to right the ship, but one more year of this abortion of an offense will seal his fate.

Sounds a lot like LSU fans in 2008

Sorry man, I just don't see it. He'll keep winning 8 to 10 games a year and that will be enough to keep him there.

I think a program would be hard pressed to get rid of a guy who at least wins 8 games a year, but if there are more Arkansas affairs, I also think it'd be difficult to keep him. If he starts to swirl the drain, I can imagine LSU going with a different head coach.

Personally, I think he's gonna be there for a while barring meltdown.

Miles will be on the hot seat next season in whats supposed to be a season where we contend for an SEC championship. If he fricks up next season.. he's probably out. He won't be fired, but I'd expect him to leave.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but -- if he doesn't go below 8 - 9 games, he'll stay no matter what. You can't have a successful program and fire coaches for performing adequately in a very hard conference, and the absolute best division head to toe.

I mean, outside of A&M and Arkansas -- Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama and Auburn would all be difficult games to predict regarding the rest of the country.

I could see any of those four teams winning it all, and Miles is lucky to have you where you are. That division is damn difficult.

Mushchamp fired
I'll bite...

• 27-20 overall
• 17-15 in the SEC
• Eight losses in The Swamp (17-8)
• Seven losses to unranked teams (FSU in 2011, Miami in 2013, Georgia in 2013, Vanderbilt in 2013, Georgia Southern in 2013, LSU in 2014, Missouri in 2014, USC in 2014)
• Offense ranked below 100th nationally first three seasons (113th in 2013, 103rd in 2012, 105th in 2011) … and ranked 98th this season, according to NCAA.com
• In 44 games, the Gators have had more than twice as many games in which they’ve thrown for 100 or fewer yards (seven) than they’ve had games with 300 or more yards passing (three). We’ve thrown for more than 300 yards against only Furman in 2011, Vanderbilt in 2013 and Eastern Michigan in 2014. We’ve thrown for fewer than 200 yards in 30 games. The program that brought us the Fun ‘n’ Gun has thrown for fewer than 200 yards in more than two-thirds of its games with Muschamp at the helm.
• 4-14 record against ranked teams
• First home loss to Vanderbilt since 1945
• First loss to an FCS team (and it was at home and to a team that had ZERO passing yards)
• Seven consecutive losses in 2013 — the longest losing streak since 1979 and only the third such streak since 1946
• First losing season since 1979
• Allowed most yards in a game in school history (645 to Alabama in 2014)
• Worst home loss (42-13 to Missouri in 2014) since 2002 (36-7 to LSU), and worst home loss to an unranked team since 1967 (37-6 to LSU)
• First back-to-back Homecoming losses since 1946-47 (to Miami and UNC)
• In the last decade, teams that allowed 120 yards or less are 147-2. Both losses are by the Gators in the Muschamp era (21-7 to FSU in 2011 and 42-13 to Missouri in 2014)

But Muschamp is such a "good" man.

Props to you dude. Damn impressive response. Reminds me of our fans' arguments about Shula.

Obviously Muschamp didn't get it done but I'll say this, he handled his dismissal with total class and refused to make excuses. He's an excellent DC and will land on his feet somewhere.

Two UF updates from Football scoop

Florida: Sources tell us that Marshall head coach Doc Holliday is very much a candidate for the head coaching vacancy at Florida. Holliday has served as head coach at Marshall for the past five seasons. From 2005-2007 he was on Urban Meyer’s staff at Florida serving as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. Holliday went on to join the staff at West Virginia where he served two years as associate head coach before being named head coach at Marshall following the 2009 season. Holliday won 10 games at Marshall last season and currently has his team 10-0.

Florida: Adam Schefter reported at halftime of Monday Night Football that Mike Shanahan is not interested in coaching college football at this time.
