That's some rarefied air to be in for a kid who's out of state. I hope we can keep Odom/Kuligowski combo for a couple more years.

He was referring to Jeff Thomas

2016 defensive end 5* Sci Martin also plans to visit the Zou.
Posted on 10/22/15 at 12:30 pm to Zou brownmajic
I think Martin is only a 3*. Where did you see 5* at?

He is a 3*. On PW they had him as a 5*

It's time for Mizzou to go look at Al Young. Kid makes plays every week. He was great a few weeks ago against NW commit Campbell.

The ESL WR would be a good get.
So is it safe to assume the ESL teacher's strike effectively neutered Thomas' senior season?

Sounds like with Richard leaving, we are now in the market for a JUCO WR. Imo we should have gotten one last year when it was obvious we were too young at the position. We've lost 2 WR from the 2014 class, not to mention all the misses we've had at the WR position the previous 2 classes.

Who else left from the 2014 class?
Maybe the staff goes after Ballard. He's 6'4 and runs a 4.4 40. Without the grade issues he would be a 4 star.

Redshirt freshman WR Thomas Richard has decided to leave the program, per team spokesman Chad Moller.

Wasn't Richard promising during preseason camp
Posted on 10/30/15 at 4:40 pm to Zou brownmajic
Richard looked good in preseason, but who knows. Maybe the coaches are playing favorites by playing the older kids. Because there's no way Leftwich should be our top WR, the kid is awful. They also started playing Wingo and Hilton in his spot, so I can't blame him for transferring. Lee was the other one we lost from 2014.
Also, 4* DE Gooden set his OV for 12/20 and 4* DE Bledsoe is down to ku, Oklahoma, and Mizzou.

Really surprised we are hanging in there with Bledsoe. He's actually from Lawrence correct?

Good luck to Richard, but can't say I'm upset about opening up a scholarship.
I'm not sure I like the idea of a JUCO WR unless we can get a truly elite one and it may be too late in the game to get in on something like that. Other than that, I'd rather see a young guy we can develop as next year we should have more experience at the position.
I'm excited to see what Johnson (I think he would have really helped this year) and smith can bring to the table.
I don't get why people bash Leftwich but it seems like Brown and Moore get a pass. He's been by far our most consistent pass catcher, and he'd likely be having a big year if we had a QB that could hit him on those go routes because he beats the CB pretty consistently on those. He would have had 100+ yards and 2+ TDs vs Vandy if Lock could have put an accurate throw on him. He was beating that CB like a rented mule.

Jes - you called my name, so I had to say something in total agreement.
Leftwich is NOT the problem. Delivery of the ball is the issue. Lock's been playing like a freshman, plain and simple. The OL has been playing like a small high school line.

Looking at what I see coming back and areas of need in this class.
QB
Lock, Zanders
I'm going off of the assumption that Mauk transfers and Printz graduates and moves on like was discussed pre-season. With Berk graduating, all of a sudden we are SUPER thin at QB and in trouble with any injuries. Maybe Mauk stays??? Maybe they talk Printz into sticking around??? Regardless, we need at least a body in this class, not necessarily a future starter. That's next year's class.
RB
Witter, Walters, Abbington, Williams, Doherty, Strong, Anderson.
Treating Chase as pure rumor at this point. Seems like some solid options except the staff probably won't see anyone other than Witter as an option. Running game will be no better unless staff opens their eyes and give others a chance. Position is taken care of IMO with this class with Strong and Anderson.
WR
Brown, Moore, Wingo, DiLosa, Hilton, Blair, Hall, Floyd, Smith, Johnson, Perkins, Baham.
Lots of options but not sure what we have here. Seen Brown and Moore enough to know what you'll get next year. I think Hall has the chance by next year to pass both of them. Some of the others would have to step up big time. Johnson and Smith maybe???? Are those 2 enough??? Baham is not enough in this class.
TE
Culkin, Reese Blanton
Return everyone short our blocking TE. Not too concerned with this position, but definitely need a TE in this class as we didn't take any last year.
OL
Not even touching it because it's a cluster frick and the guys who will start next year are currently worse than the shite show we are starting now. Not a good sign. All I'll say is they better start getting quality as well as quantity because apparently their current quantity is shite if they're worse than the current starters.

QB
PM is saying Mizzou is going hard after a JUCO QB. Not a particular one just want a JUCO QB. Also wouldn't shock me if Zanders left. He could go to a JUCO play a year to prove himself.

RB
I don't think the staff is really in love with Witter. There's enough bodies here that is someone wants it they can go get it in the spring. Witter is a change of pace, third down back.

WR
Smith, Hall & JJ could really make some moves here. I think Brown can be really good next year. He just needs to be consistent.

OL
We keep hearing about a couple of the young OL, but they haven't been given a chance yet. The 3 OL in this class I like, but I doubt they are the type that will be ready to play from year 1.
