'17 could be a really big year for recruiting

If you were a DE/DT why wouldn't you come to Mizzou. You're a lock to be a first round pick if you put in the time.

A lot of the highly rated players think they will get there regardless of where they go to school.

Not even trying to sound like an arse right now but it's cause other schools give them more "benefits" ($$) when Mizzou knows that they can take a less-wanted player and coach him up almost just as well, IMO

you think a 4-5 star might be afraid of getting beat out by a 3 or even 2 star?

Mizzou has had a good track record of sendind 2-3* de dt to the NFL. 4-5*s figure they could go anywhere and especially to national championship contending teams.

so then the rest of the team ain't up to snuff is what you're saying.. all the 4-5 stars can't play for bama and tOSU, which is why plenty are going to teams like Tenn and UScjr even, (you know, THOSE NC contenders)

TBJ wasn't afraid. Howard & Moore are also 4 stars playing as true freshmen this year.
GP would take those 4-5 star kids if he could get them.

Should help with the Defensive players who we are recruiting. Defense is at a point where we now reload instead of rebuilding. And we play a lot of players on the line and D backfield.

I was thinking just the opposite. DL will be loaded next couple of years, will be hard to crack the 2 deep for guys coming in, not much PT available there for new guys.
Offense is obviously bad this year, but we're young at WR and QB. Some opportunities on offense for freshmen next year.

Rumblings are already starting about Harris looking good to pro scouts with his production and being elgible after this season. If Penton or Augusta surge through the rest of the season, they may start some talk as well (don't know about Penton's elgibility).

Penton is a junior. I think he comes back. If he were as big as Gibson or Dennis I think there's a good chance he leaves, but his shortness will hold him back.

Per Powermizzou the AJ Epenesa the DE from Edwardsville "clicked " with a certain Tiger. Would that be TBJ??

I thought it said he clicked with a DE. My guess is Harris.

The headline said current Tiger

Well hopefully it's a younger guy because Harris will be gone before he gets here.
