This is the key point. If not for Saban coming to Alabama and beating LSU in a NCG these guys wouldn't be calling us their rivals.
We literally have no reason to hate them. None. Besides recruiting we literally have no reason to clash with them.
They are a big game and a respected foe. They are those pissant Rocky Tops or lil bro. They are just a good LSU side.
As I said, once either team sucks no one will give a shite about this game.

Good definition of a rivalry
Never seen so much huffing over semantics- it's just a word that is distracting from what has been an awesome matchup b/c these teams have had so much elite talent lately. That's why viewers like it- same reason NFL scouts like it
The Miami FSU of the 90s
A rivalry is something different, something LSU doesn't really have, and LSU fans should be glad we don't have one because it means we own the recruiting talent in one of the most fertile states
