I still think we have to win the SEC championship to make the playoffs. I said it before the season and stick with it even now, I don't see the committee putting two SEC teams in the playoff with 1 loss conference champs sitting out there. 1 loss Oregon will be in, 1 loss ND will have a really good shot of getting in for ratings, 1 loss ACC champ FSU will get in as defending champ, 1 loss or better SEC champ will be in.
The thing that interests me will be if there is a two loss SEC champ, will they get in over 1 loss other conference champs.

No way. If we finish with 1 loss and all those road wins (especially if k state keeps it up) there is no way we are out regardless of what others do

I'm consistent. If in 2011 I said "one cannot be the national champion if you cannot win your division;" them the same must ring true in 2014. Should i change my tune because it benefits my team now?

the difference is you have to win your way to the championship game now.

We have a better chance to make the playoffs by going to Atlanta but I think there is a chance to be #4 if msu wins out.

If we win out we are in the playoffs no matter wha . Don't give a shut about SEC because it means MSU has to lose 2 games at this point highly unlikely

You just try too hard nowadays.

You beat me to it.
K St. winning out will probably have a bigger impact on the committee's decision when it comes to Auburn than the SEC championship game.
If Auburn wins out, we've beaten 3 top 10 teams on the road. I wish Georgia had not shite the bed.
Win out and were in the playoffs no matter what else happens. The committee loves us

Our loss will be to a top 10 road opponent and we will have won 5-6 top 15-20 games even if our teams shite the bed. No one touches that schedule

Bama will beat state
It'll come down to iron bowl again
Bama beating state doesn't help Auburn at all unless they also lose to Vandy and/or Ole Miss. As the OP pointed out, there's not much chance for OM to beat them now that their best player is out for the season.
Would be better, as far as playoff chances go, for MSU to be undefeated, instead of 1 loss to bama.
