A $70 million brand new stadium on a constrained budget for a fanbase that averages 15k per game? Yes, total no-brainer

You're being VERY generous.

And here's the real question. Even if they were to get a new stadium, where are they going to get their fans from? Do you think people who have been Bama or Auburn fans are going to suddenly become UAB fans because they have a new stadium? Sorry, in this time of both teams being powerhouses, nobody's switching. UAB is always going to be UAB and nobody but is going to care.

Yep - the idea that "local fans" will chose to go to UAB games instead of sitting at home and watching SEC games is laughable. SEC schools are even having issues getting people to games, but UAB is going to be able to get them to come to UAB instead of watching SEC games?

Georgia State made the exact same pitch. They were going to be the "local alternative" to going to Athens or Clemson or Auburn. Nobody wanted anything to do with it. Kennesaw is trying to make a similar pitch, albeit on a much, much smaller level (smartly). It doesn't work. People would rather watch games all day on their TV than miss those games and go to a low level FBS or FCS game.
