But Tulane built it. With their money.
Tulane also has an athletic foundation that raised the funds. UAB needs its own athletic fund and they might be able to raise the funds and secure the funding.

If UAB wants to do that they are more than welcome to.
that is why they need the athletic foundation. Hell just look at the wonders that having an AF has done for ULL.

Yea, I mean I am all for UAB doing this. I don't have any issue with it.

I can tell you one thing Birmingham has an abundance of that Atlanta never, ever will; water. They have massively over populated and ran dry then they keep running to court to try and steal everyone else's.
We're bout to just steal the Tennessee river no biggy.

So water in Georgia belongs to other states?

The reason Bama doesn't want UAB to be sucessful is because a lot of their big money donors are UAB Graduates.

We want UAB to be successful
We are not stopping them from being successful
We're simply not interested in absolute money pits

Hasn't Alabama repeatedly paid coaches to go elsewhere instead of UAB or something?

UAB doesn't succeed because they are located in quite honestly the shittiest city in the southeast sans downtown Atlanta.

Paid
And no, but the BOT did stop coaches from being hired

Right because it was an exorbitant investment that would never return. Why should UA pour money down the drain and assume all the risk?

The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees released the official response on their decision to deny UAB's on-campus football stadium proposal. UAB president Carol Garrison also released a statement on the matter.
Here are the statements:
Board of Trustees Statement:
"A majority of the Board believes that an on-campus football stadium is not in the best interest of UAB

UAB fans to protest today at UA System trustees meeting.
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Students and other supporters of UAB's efforts to build an on-campus football stadium plan to protest today and Friday as the University of Alabama System's trustees gather on the Birmingham campus for their regular meeting.
Organizers say the rally will dwarf a similar protest held in Tuscaloosa when the board of trustees declined to review the University of Alabama at Birmingham's stadium plans in November. Since then, supporters of UAB have launched a group called FreeUAB, which has run commercials and staged other events to draw attention to its cause.

UAB vs. UAT
Disgusting. Embarrassing. Shameful.
Just a few of the words that came to mind when it was revealed that the University of Alabama system Board of Trustees submarined UAB’s attempt to hire LSU offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher as head football coach for the supposed reason that his salary would have been too great.
If media reports are accurate, and there’s no reason to believe they aren’t in this case, UAB and Fisher agreed on a deal that would have had him take over the program at a salary of $600,000 a year. It was also reported that half of the money to pay Fisher would come from local businessmen, making Fisher’s effective salary against the school’s payroll a miniscule $300,000 per year. The average Division-1 football coach in America makes three times that sum.

Good, sounds like UAB has a lot of supporters that will be happy to donate large sums of money to their new Athletic Foundation to build a new stadium.
Should happen pretty quickly then. Good for them.
What is going on here?
I’ll tell you what’s going on here: The University of Alabama system Board of Trustees is afraid the Birmingham school will one day compete with the Tuscaloosa school in football and it’s doing whatever it can to make sure that never happens.
Of the Board’s 15 members, 11 of them have some kind of degree from the Tuscaloosa campus while just two have a degree from the Birmingham campus.
One of those with a degree from UAT is none other than Bear Bryant’s son, Paul Bryant, Jr. Remember, Bear was on record having said he didn’t even think UAB should have an athletic department, let alone a football team. It has long been speculated in Alabama that the Board subversively attempts to stymie UAB’s growth in athletics and this stunt proves that suspicion beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Yes it's not a wise investment.
And a bunch of people believe they are entitled and bitch about it.
That's exactly what you posted.
