My daughter lives in Knoxville. She sings rocky top to me when I visit. Every. Time.

The mother's side of the family thinks it's HILARIOUS.

It's a damn shame.

That does suck - sorry to hear that. It really is part of the pageantry of the game day experience.

Is that your daughter?
She's awesome.

They're brainwashing her. I've got to make up some ground.

That is funny because I completely relate to that.

My Mom and Grandparents from her side and two half brothers and one half sister and the handful of nieces and nephews....all love them some Rocky Top.

I was born there and have the soft spot, but, I haven't had it blasted in my ear after loosing to them.

Things could change quickly

Fear not.
Brainwashing can end up backfiring on a 17-year-old.

My first memories of Mizzou football were the bands as well man.

Most of my early memories were bird watching the cheerleaders and baton throwers instead of watching the game.

Yeah I'm over here listening to the bands and being amazed by how neat and green the grass was

My 7 year old mind was blown away.

I don't have a musical bone in my body, but always enjoy have bands from both teams at a game. It really helps spark the atmosphere of a game.

Real disappointment for a distant game, our band would have helped with the smaller group of visiting fans.

We had that happen before the 1998 Big 12 Title game. Flight was delayed 8 hours due to weather. (lightning struck the plane) We didn't arrive in St. Louis until 2 am the night before gameday.

When I was in the MDB we were supposed to fly into Arkansas Saturday morning for the game there. It was so foggy we couldn't land and had to land in Tulsa and wait there for the fog to clear. I was pissed we missed kickoff

Of course, blowing Arkansas out that day made me feel better

One of my fondest memories as a child was before a Carolina-Clemson game, both bands were already seated and one would play a song and the other would play after. Like a defacto battle of the bands.

We kinda did that with LSU's band before the national championship 2 years ago. They might've won the battle ( they played Neck) but I think we won the war.
