Only thing I know is after beating A&M one year they tore down the goal posts and rammed the Aggy student section with it

They sound pretty cool, really

It's on YouTube. It's pretty fricking funny and I'm an A&M fan. After they did it a massive brawl between their fans and our fans ensued

Plenty of material for that.
But again, stds.

A&M fans have an especially bad opinion of their fans, but I think that is because they are trained to hate A&M and treated us horribly as a result.
Similar to the way that many A&M traditions revolve around UTw, Tech is obsessed with A&M. So, when we went there, we'd be welcomed with flying batteries, spitting, cursing, trying to fight us, etc.
But I don't know that they act that way to everyone, and I doubt it; it's just that they really, really hate A&M.
I will say this, when we went to the SEC, they were the only school that to a man just said "good for you". No lawsuits, no hand-wringing or failure predictions, just "we wish we could leave too".
My respect for them grew immensely because of that.
They ARE remarkably passionate and loyal considering their team is way out the desert and has no history and zero media attention. They have a 60,000 stadium despite being so remote that most of their alumni have to fly in because it's too far out there to drive.
Lubbock is a shite destination though. There's nothing cool or nice there or anywhere near. It's flat, it's the desert, it smells of cow shite when the breeze is from the stockyards, there are occasional REAL sandstorms, and no bar scene.

Wasn't it a dry county until relatively recently?

I'm pretty sure the photo album of the tech volleyball player getting fricked all over a dorm room is still on the internet somewhere as well

The Tech social scene is 100% about getting completely shite housed at house parties in Lubbock and fricking shite up. I'm sure it's fun if you go there or know people that go there but it kinda sucks outside of that

Yes. Just across the county line on some two lane farm road they had what was called "the strip". It was a whole bunch of liquor stores lined up next to each other. I'll find a pic

Kliff is a much better coach than Bret.

I've never given them a thought.

Naw. I spent a lot of time in West Texas. That is the kind of trashiness that grows on the fringe of civilization.

Agreed. I never want to play Baylor again in football, but Tech I wouldn't mind so much.
