You can rest for sure that the first poll the committee puts out will be scrutinized with extreme bias in the media. The fact their poll has been deemed useless has a lot of big wigs pissed off

The drop off after 7 is pretty big. A&M would be ranked 20 spots of ahead of LSU most years.

Beautiful. I'd like to see us fall to about 5th, if we can keep improving and winning in the process.

Florida is being massively underrated, even if Driskel is only as good as he showed yesterday (and it seemed as if he was basically told not to run) the Gators appear at worst to be the 4th best team in the conference. If Florida loses more than 3 games it'd be shocking this season.

Florida concerns me. There's a lot of talent on that roster, and while we can't tell anything from cupcake blowouts, the offense looks to be gelling.

I can't understand how Ohio State and South Carolina are both ranked, and ranked higher than BYU. SCar may be a very good team, but they haven't shown it at all in their two games. Ohio State struggled with Navy before losing to Va Tech. BYU smoked what was thought to be at least a solid Texas team.

I think some of you aren't giving ECU the credit they deserve. They aren't a P5 team, and they aren't a great team. But to act like they're Sam Houston State or Southern Miss is a bit over the top.

Plus we'll be unranked after next weekend anyways.

#5 AU
#6 UGA

Clearly the Au win over Arkansas was more impressive to the media than the UGA win over Clemson. You can thank us later Auburn.

You may be right. I just went back and checked the box score, and I thought the final score was closer and the game was tighter in the second half.

ECU is not a cupcake. But after the first game, I would have needed to see more from SCar this weekend to rank them. And what BYU did to Texas was impressive.

I agree CNB, some of those "mid=major" teams are hard to gage. Playing the big team is their Super Bowl and the good ones will fight you on the field.

Stanford gave up 24 points to them on significantly less plays. Nice try brah.

I love A&M posters trying to talk about defense.

Oregon allowed 13 points to South Dakota and 27 to Michigan State.

That's 40 points or 20 ppg.

A&M allowed 28 points AT South Carolina and 3 points to Lamar.

That's 31 points or 15.5 ppg.

A&M posters are defensive, if that counts for anything.

28 PA to SCAR is crap. Before we beat MSU, the majority of people on tigerdroppings were picking MSU to win. Unlike SCAR, they were not over hyped. MSU just lost to a better team.
Verdict is to early to say anything about A&M because they are yet to play a good offense. A&M offense, having not played a defense with a pulse, looks lights out.

So we aren't a good defense and we aren't a good offense, because we lost to the one team you are discrediting but MSU is good because Oregon beat them.

Makes sense.

After the way the Big Ten as a conference performed yesterday, my point emphatically stands.

The sample size for anything right now is too small. However, Oregon is #8 in the country since 2008 on yards per play given up on defense. We have fielded a significantly better defense than A&M over a long period of time.

I am going with Oregon having a better defense than A&M.

Because that determines how good Michigan State is on offense and defense? Lol.

Losses by other B1G teams. Michigan State is good, and much better than SCarolina IMO. Comparing Michigan State to the rest of the B1G is asinine when we haven't even seen them play anyone in conference.

Sparty might just be much, much better than every other B1G team. We'll find out in the coming weeks.

Sparty is probably the best team in the B1G and better than USCe, but I wouldn't say "much" better.

MSU lost a ton from last year's team. Why that wasn't given much weight in the preseason, I don't know.
