Saban arrives...
Great to play in Atlanta, players looking forward to it.
Who are we as a team? Right now...nobody is sold on anybody at this point. Everyone is looking to execute..
Creating identity is key for this team.
WV has a good team coming back. Dana's done a good job, especially on offense.. like Aggies, Okie style, controlling rhythm of the game.

QB situation.. will continue to rep both guys. Both been doing a very good job. Someone has to start, will make that decision at some point this week.
Asked about mental prep.
Blake has been here longer, seems more comfortable doing the things we do. Has done a really good job and played really really well in camp and scrimmages. Team has good rhythm.
Jake is newer guy. Doesn't have same knowledge and experience, trying to get him more practice. About confidence. To think one can play with confidence without having knowledge is stupid. Player has to develop knowledge and understanding of what to do, to have confidence in doing it. Gotta be a bit of a factor being new.
All players should be available to go to Atlanta as of now.

Asked if will rotate 2 series on, 2 series off for QB's. No plans to do that this game. Doesn't mean whoever pitches to start, will pitch the whole 9 innings...

Kurt Freitag is only one not to practice today. Toe issue.

Asked about defensive depth going against up tempo.
Feels better on Dline than last yr. More athletic, more experienced up front. Thin at LB and may rotate more in these kinds of games. More experience in 2ndary than a year ago. Feels these kind of teams put more pressure on perimeter, challenge for that group.
Asked about Sims/Coker both playing..
That decision hasn't been made yet. Already said everything that could be said about that.
Asked about Sylve and Cyrus
Both recruited to play corner, if wants to play something, allow them to play that. In both cases, both guys had success on offense. Both had opportunity and it's taken a yr for both to develop to defense to have knowledge and confidence. Both had really good camps. Mo Smith and Eddie Jackson both freshmen last year. Tony and Marlon got a lot of reps and will contribute this year. Cyrus has had a really good camp, done really well. Hope to carry over in game.

Asked about RB's.
Done a really good job. Had good camps. Henry and Yeldon more of inside downhill do it all runners, Drake is really good receiver and perimeter runner. All 3 will be involved in game and have significant contributions.
Another QB question about them not separating themselves yet..
Could say both are playing well and hard to choose.

Asked if more involved when new OC comes in..
Try to on the offensive side, make some changes systematically to improve schematically to make defense adjust. Frick.. lost feed.
Back for now. Sounds like he was chastising the press about depth charts and taking them literally..

things i found interesting:
Devall starting at Sam over Lee. to me, it says a lot about XD having a good camp.
Pettway and Allen both penciled in as starters. say your prayers Trickett
Hand must have really impressed to move up the depth chart that much.
No Brandon Greene anywhere in the 2 deep OL?
both Cyrus Jones and Nick Perry starting? step back from that ledge, my friends.
like that Reuben has learned both ILB spots

Asked about Reuben Foster..
Had a good fall camp. Has learned how to play.. been a good playmaker. Some have habits that aren't good for their health and safety. Loved to duck head and tackle. Not saying wasn't effective, but caused problems with his stingers. Had to reteach how to tackle to stay healthy and hasn't had same issues. Thinks he can be a player to contribute a lot this year.
Thank you.
Saban exits.

Sadly I see this...great thing SDH is way better than most of us expected...we may need him to have a Hightower like TF season & if Rueb goes down this group has 0 depth...not good to have to rely on such an injury prone player but maybe he will show better technique and stay off the trainers table this year.

Rashaan Evans has shown a lot on the edge in terms of a pass rush. Tim Williams has too, when we get him fully back.

I sure hope that JK Scott stays healthy. I'm not sold on the back-up

I wanna see some TF back-ups Da'Shawn & Rashaan eating up QBs in the 4th quarter
THat is scary that we will likely see Hand in there 1st to spell Pettway
I also agree on XD that really surprises me to see. I see Williams coming in at both OLB spots instead of Miller

Biggest surprise: Morris is the backup, not Bateman or Cornwell.

Thanks for putting this together. I'm surprised to see Alec Morris listed above Bateman considering he received no mention at all in BOL's practice reports. Speaking of QB's, Ely was named the starter at Toledo today.

Saw that earlier. Hope he does well for them.

I thought Bateman would be #3 as well. Surprised to see Morris listed above Bateman.
