We sent Colt out on a cart, but he got us back his senior year.

I seriously doubt it. Other than Bo and Hershel, arguments could be made every year. The award is a media driven popularity contest, historically dominated by northern schools and Notre Dame.
of course this is my humble opinion.

Did y'all have to listen to "if only Colt hadn't got hurt" for a whole year?

No, he was only a freshman at the time. We made fun of him, but the guy proved he could play. He really was a fine college qb. But, with or without him, the sips weren't going to beat Bama. The sips are fond of excuses.

quote:You need to do some research on the man who's statute is in front of the Academic Building. TAMU's founders actually had very deep ties to the Confederacy. Hash this out all you want to, but we are a Southern school. While the state of Texas is unique on its own, it is still a part of "the south", especially East Texas. Just maybe not the "deep south."
Woah, back it up. We may be a conservative university, but by no means are we Southern.
And the culture of our university has a very Southern feel to it. Don't believe me? Go check out other Land Grant universities in the South and compare them to TAMU; we are shockingly similar. We are nothing like the Land Grant schools in the Midwest, especially the ones we used to play (ISU, KSU, NU). And now that we are in the SEC, those similarities are becoming more and more evident. That is why we "fit" so well in the SEC. Southern Culture.

Makes Sense...joining a League where fully half the teams are better than your in state rival is a puss out.
Not to mention the Business Math involved.

Why is Texas scared of Aggie?? They pretty much owned that arse?
I never cease to be amazed by the patent stupidity of this type comment.
Fifty years ago and for a solid century before that time, Detroit eclipsed Houston and Dallas in almost every way.
Is anyone (other than perhaps a barely-literate Cajun) dumb enough to actually use that fact to argue that a dying Rustbelt armpit like Detroit is actually superior (TODAY) to two of the most-dynamic cities in the nation?
The overall series record is an interesting historical footnote. It has ZERO relevance in comparing the two schools today.

texas is poisonous. i would not have them in the sec for any amount of money
If you think yell practice is bad, we would get those awful white cowboy hats and fringed orange coats from Texas.

That would be "polyester" orange fringed jackets....that they prance around in.

Texas piled up wins from the days when the Ivy League dominated college football and later when Tulane and Suwanee were SEC members.

If that happened, and I hope it did, there's nothing left to say.
Just grin inwardly and move on to the next task.

Pretty sure Vanderbilt owns Bevo by a similar margin percentage but who cares about the past. Dores should be getting a royalty check tho for the RRR.
