38-10

I completely agree with the people predicting an ugly first half, especially if they still haven't settled on a QB and Coker and Sims are taking turns.

I watched one WVU game last year and I was amazed at how small their defense was. Unless they had a bunch of bigger reserves, or signed a bunch of bigger freshmen, I can't see that defense stopping our run game for 4 quarters.
Have read their offense should be slightly improved over last season, so they'll be a bit of a challenge especially for the younger guys.
I also see sort of a sluggish first half, but we eventually wear them down and win going away, 36-13.

35-14 bama.
Passing stats will be meh while the Run game goes off.
Defensively we keep them contained for the most part and make some good stops. I expect us to give up a few big plays but we generally keep teams from putting up a lot of points. The most I remember for an opening game was 24 vs VT back in 2009.

30-13, offense looks sloppy most of the game, Griffith misses a FG and an XP, and the defense looks pretty solid. Bama fans won't be happy, but it will be a good gauge to work from the next two weeks as we prepare for Florida.

I think its going to look a lot like the Michigan game a couple years ago.

24-10 Bama. New OL, untested secondary, new QB. Might be tight for awhile.

I hope so...that Va Tech game last year was almost unwatchable.
38-7

38-24 The secondary may struggle early with the WV pass attack and the QBs will alternate. Our running game will settle the QBs and our receivers will make plays. Oline should excel early on. WVU Dline is no where near what Va Tech's was last year.

I think it really depends on how quickly our offensive line gels and how our running backs have developed. If our running game is dominating it will minimize first game jitters for whatever QB starts, and therefore mistakes like picks. Clock will run quickly.... put me down for a 35-3 type game. Most of our scoring will come late in the game from trying lots of different looks for our rb's and experimenting if we clearly establish dominance on the lines.

Looks like WVU only returns 1 starter on the DL, and we bring back 3 on the OL.
I'm guessing this will end up being the week 1 line:
Robinson-Arie-Kelly-Dom-Shep
That's an averaged height of 6'5.6" and an average weight of 314.8lbs.
Using this: LINK
WVU's DL will be:
DE: Dontrill Hyman (6'4" 265)
NG: Kyle Rose* (6'4" 298)
DE: Christian Brown (6'3" 290)
* = Rose is the returning starter, but didn't play Nose last year.
Average of 6'3.6" and 284.3 pounds.
We should be able to run on them, but it will definitely depend on how well the OL meshes.
Plus their OL is inexperienced. I think our DL could show their stuff early if Saban lets them loose.

Yeah, because undersized D Lines have never given us problems in the past.
I agree with you that the math says we dominate but those quick lines have given us fits in the past. I think it was Kent State a few years ago that averaged like 260 or some shite across the front. Those guys gave our line fits all damn day.

I think you're thinking of Western Kentucky.
Yeah, I know the quick lines have given us trouble before.
