true, but lsu is still not far behind a&m in total athletic budget and lsu spends almost as much on football specifically. moreover, more money does not equal more success. see: florida.
I don't know about that. While I agree it doesn't always mean success, money helped catapult UF from an afterthought school to a top 3 athletic program in the country.
TBH, TAMU has underachieved considering the resources at their disposal. They'll tell you they haven't always been so huge, however.

No, you're being delusional. LSU's athletic program is not going to lose money and fans because aTm has joined the conference. LSU has a firm hold on LA and a HUGE alumni and recruiting base west of Houston. aTm isn't going to change that
Never said any of that. This isn't about LSU declining on its own. If you have a nice house and your neighbor builds one that dwarfs yours, you still have a nice house.

aTm is not going to cause an LSU decline either. aTm is not going to shrink LSU's income or recruiting base. You really are stupid if you think aTm is going to come in and take over Houston in the near future.
As I said before, LSU is one of the few self-sustained football programs in the country and are still one of the most profitable. Until the football program is forced to start taking those state funds from the other sports your argument carries ZERO weight.

quote:you don't understand how economics works do you? first, you acknowledge that lsu has a "large" budget which contradicts the earlier "limited resources" comment. second, what does state economics have to do with football? lsu has won more games than anyone except boise st since 2005 and is the best program since 2000. obviously, state economics isn't affecting university athletic budgets like you think
Your large budget puts more strain on the school and state than does a large budget at UF or TAMU

Uh, A&M owns Houston. This is like saying "you're crazy if you think UGA is going to come take Atlanta from Auburn."
LSU does well in Houston, relatively, but TAMU increasing its hold won't help at all.

You're the best program since 2000 huh?

aTm does not "own" Houston. LSU has carved out a huge base there.

Ohh, I see now. Money can't account for success on a yearly basis. Good thing you told me how things work.
I'm sure there is probably no correlation between the most wealthy athletic departments and prominence.

Didn't you just say LSU has a huge athletic budget? You really need to nail down these "arguments."

No I hate Texas. Texas is certainly one of the most successful and prominent football programs in NCAA history though, so it's a good point, glad you mentioned it.

You're welcome, and good luck with turning all that money and history into wins.

A&M lost one more game than LSU, and they sucked?

Nothing you have claimed in this thread has been supported by facts except that aTm has more money.
If you're going to claim the aTm has better talent, better coaching, and more respect within the conference then why not provide some facts to back it up? Maybe because the facts state the exact opposite of your ridiculous claims?

quote:in your parlance they did. they are all world resources. that should be better than lsu every year. are you giving up on the ridiculous notion that a&m $ is causing the lsu decline? lsu gets plenty, plenty of great players from florida. why haven't fsu and gator $ sunk lsu? lsu gets plenty of talent from the panhandle and south alabama. why hasn't bam/auburn money sunk lsu?
A&M lost one more game than LSU, and they sucked?
