so now we're just swapping the usual pre season bullshite?
Auburn's defense last year sucked. It will probably be mediocre to sucky this year.
Am I doing it right?

a 41 year hiatus during which alabama was a dominant national football power and auburn was nothing skews the numbers a bit.
You do know the reason for the hiatus right? Also, the fact it was a bama home game for the next 50 years skews the numbers a bit as well so it all evens out.

Auburn fans, and fans of virtually every other school, deny it. I wonder why?

I always thought the term was primarily used to indicate the non-flagship school in a state or IOW, the other school or second school. Obviously it's also used to rag that school over being smaller or winning less on the field but even if Auburn held the series lead Bama could still call them Lil Bro because they're not the flagship - it just wouldn't have the added or other meaning of the term which amounts to 'nananana we own you in football.'

Why didn't Auburn do anything to try and restore competitive balance?

Alabama fans suffer from an entitlement complex which causes them to assume that everything is about them. They're also insecure about sharing the same state with another successful program, and feel the need to denigrate Auburn whenever possible in an attempt to validate their superiority.

Auburn is Alabama's "lil bro" because they have a worse football program. How is this even a debate? /thread

The "little brother" thing is more a of cultural or social jab at Auburn.
You have the flagship professional school versus the "cow college". While oversimplifying greatly, Alabama is historically the white collar/professional school for the state. It's the same thing you see with Michigan-MSU, Texas-Texas A&M, UVA-VaTech, Ole Miss- MS State, UNC-NC State.

They didn't have anybody with the stones to take on the empire until CPD came to town. Shug was a great man but was too nice.

So then historically you were little brother with no stones to take on the alpha male.

Historically Auburn is probably a top 15 program. Alabama is probably in the top 3. Even Charles Barkley admitted that Auburn's program, from a historical standpoint, can't hold a CANDLE to Alabama's.
With that said, Gus has done a great job down there!! That crossed-eyed fricker is an offensive genius and I'm looking forward to the Iron Bowl...

of course Auburn is lil bro. im pretty sure they dont have the hardware of Bama, yet claim to be equals. Thats what a lil bro does. and might i say those 2 have the most delusional fan bases ever.

Auburn is called "Lil Bro" only as a way for Bama to try to get some credit for Auburn winning. Bama fans are the only ones that say it and they only do it to make themselves look better when they lose to Auburn or Auburn fans start making fun of them.
Its kind of the same way some people try to tell everyone they are kin to someone just to make themselves look better, so people won't notice they are really a loser.

What's this about Auburns standing in the academic world? Auburn is a fine school, just like Alabama is, but no where in the academic world does anyone think Auburn or Alabama is appreciably better than the other.
