I knew I'd receive that response.
And I may even react the same, if I were you (we have tons of Texas products that are as much a part of our cultural fabric as is oxygen--and you've likely never heard of em; so I respect your ire).
Just being honest--I've never seen the product.

No harm my friend.
"Golden Flake, a proud sponsor of (insert SEC team name) football" was an advertisement many of us grew up with. Most had coaches doing the pitch.
They are a lesser known brand that makes pretty good potato chips.

Sounds like something I should sample.
You know ... just to make sure you're correct.

SEC has gotten too greedy...Golden Flakes supported a lot of SEC coach TV replay shows on Sundays.
Pepsi? Cant be....Dr Pepper has been SEC sponsor for long time. Dr Pepper originated in Texas if memory serves me right?

Zaps are good but they aren't any better than Golden Flake. Some of you go nuts over them for the same reason you think Cains and Popeyes are the greatest chicken places on earth. Golden Flake makes as good a regular potato chip as any of the others. Neither brand is as good as Frio Lay's Ruffles or Pringles (P&G) though. Have to give the nod to Frito Lay out of Texas for best all around chip company.

Zapp's crawtaters are not even in the same league as UTZ's crab chip.
