what are you talking about, he is a surgeon with the ball. look at that skill, bouncing it right off the defender.

Murray said marshall's arm was stronger than any hes ever seen, and hes been to alot of camps. He said this prior to last season.
In one of his Junior College tapes, he threw it 72-73 yards on the run and placed it perfectly down field.

We'll never know. And I could care less if some backup DB stole money from someone else on your team or even a backup QB. He would still be a backup at Georgia if he was still on the team playing QB, that was my point. He can't make the throws consistently enough to earn that in Georgia's offense IMO. It's a credit to GM that he's able to take someone with so little talent throwing the ball and make a productive offense. NM is not what is winning y'all games. GM's brain is winning games for Auburn.

did you actually watch Shockley play QB?... dude was an average passer with good mobility and armstrength... he's like the North GA version of Nick Marshall.
don't think he was even drafted after winning the SEC championship... probably just like Nick.

Exactly how much less could you care?

But that's not true, he'd still have been kicked out and would still be at auburn.

If he would have went to Georgia as a QB no one, but Georgia fans would know this kids name. He can't throw.

Nah just seen some highlight vids on youtube. Can you tell me more?

Did YOU watch him play? He was a very good thrower that could also run when needed. Unlike Marshall, who is an excellent runner that will have to throw occasionally.
NM '13- 142/239, 1976 yards, 14/6
DJ '05- 173/310, 2588 yards, 24/5
And he was drafted btw. He also broke a UGA passing record in his first career game as a starter. If you think he was just an average thrower, you obviously didn't watch him at all.

I could be wrong but I think he's saying if he didn't steal money and if he were playing QB at UGA, he'd be buried in the depth chart. Which is accurate.

career 54% passer... really lit it up...

you are all sorts of dumbass, or trolling. Don't know which, don't care. You don't throw for 24/5 and win SEC POY if you can't pass.

59.4% completion percentage.
That ain't Peyton Manning deadly, but it sure as hell ain't INACCURATE.

I dont think Nick has much of a career in radio.

If we really wanted to split hairs, we could apply the same logic to marshall as we do to darren mcfadden's passing stats.
People are focused first and foremost on stopping AU's run game. Not just the RBs, but obviously marshall as well. NM averaged what..something like 17 throws a game? If your starting QB is averaging throwing the ball only 4 times per quarter, teams probably aren't going to be very focused on taking that element away. A lot of NM's success as a passer, in my opinion, is due to teams not expecting him to throw. Granted, he still has to make the throws of course, but a 59% completion for marshall isn't quite as impressive as if he were a pro-style guy throwing it 30 times a game.

you're missing my point... shockley was very good in UGA's 2005 offense... imo, NM would have similar results if put in a similar situation... maybe not to the tune of 24/5, but he would be very successful. marshall wouldn't be able to overthrow leornard pope.
i guess the question is, was it the offense that made Shockley a 'drop back passer'... or his skillset?

I would think it would be more impressive because you have less room for error. If you only throw it 4.5 times a quarter, you better make then count.
