I definitely feel an unhealthy rage rush through me when I see fat people with their fat kids on the chips/cookie aisle.

HATE IT.
That's what my husband is for.
Crazy man actually loves grocery shopping.

I love grocery shopping but I shop at a Publix with lots of hot tail walking around.

I actually go get groceries on Sunday mornings about 8 or 9 and pick up breakfast at the Panera near it. I get there and there are about 3 people in the store with me, makes it fast and easy. But if you frick around and wait until just after lunch you will get into the coupon a-hole's territory and wait for an hour to check out.

Loved when I worked third shift and shopped in the middle of the night on a weekday off night.
Stick to the outside aisles where the fruits, veggies, and tofu reside. There's an alarming number of people not shopping in that area of the store.

what is AOSO?
I don't know right off. Did you see it in an ingredients list?
More than likely it's code for something unpopular as an ingredient. That's a trick food manufacturers are using and the FDA is letting them get away with it.

I refuse to go anymore. My wife does it all now. I never could find what I was looking for, and invariably I'd bring home the wrong thing or forget something "important" and hear it from my better half, so I stopped that argument.

I hate every consumer but me.
I grocery shop at Braum's and Walgreens. To hell with a grocery store.

In what?
I can't find it on google. I sucked at organic but I could probably figure out its purpose pretty quickly.

I don't really know, just something I picked up on the street at lunch today.
- as in bought at a food truck, not picked up off the ground

Here's the thing, most of the nasty sounding chemicals and impossible to read names aren't all that bad but the name sounds scary.
Fresh food is better and cheaper but the real danger in all the processed garbage is the sugar.

Come shop at the Harris Teeter in downtown Charleston.
If they served drinks it would be the best bar in the city. Insane talent.

If I'm ever in Charleston I will certainly check it out.

Publix, Friday morning, right after yoga gets out.

i LOVE grocery shopping but try to shop at the smaller stores. buy most of my meat at a local guy's gas station - his family's been in the meat/sausage/boudin business for years

I've noticed that, too. It's like the FDA doesn't exist. I'm a compulsive nutrition and ingredients label reader and I can tell you that the unpronounceable crap that is going into foodstuffs is scary.
Oh the FDA does exist, and are a major force to be reckoned with! Look at all the chemicals and gmo food they allow, and what does it do to human health? They surely have a negative affect to the body, but thankfully they are in charge of giving us pills that just 'treat' the problem, but hardly 'cure' it.
Its just insane that they will let chemicals and toxic waste be sold as food and put in our water supply, prescribe us pills that have side effects that can kill you.

Do you people have no women to do this?
I haven't grocery shopped in years. I let my wife be one of the soccer moms after yoga or spin class in HEB (publix here in TX)

ya it was an ingredient.
That's a super-tough one for me. No wonder we don't know what we're eating.
I've used every resource I can think of but did not come up with anything. The closest I came to identifying AOSO was that it's part of a chemical compound associated with charcoal so maybe it's a preservative or flavor additive.
Here's a comprehensive list of the FDA-approved chemicals added to our foods to make them "better."
Eat at your own risk.
