When was the last time students stood up and said "No!" to having a liberal progressive give a talk at their college?

Never. Most people are sheeple.

Didn't Notre Dame not that long ago have several Catholic conservatives request that they rescind their invitation to Obama to speak at commencement because of his abortion stance?

Of course the bigger question is if you're not a student or alumni there who gives a shite who they want/don't want to speak to them?

Higher levels of education actually tend to correlate with increasing conservatism/Republican identification until you go beyond the Bachelor's level, at which point the relationship switches. This is mostly a selection effect due to the fact that liberals are more likely to self-select into academic careers than are conservatives and are therefore more likely to pursue research doctorates.

There's kind of a similar relationship when it comes to wealth. Conservatism rises with wealth until you reach the extremely wealthy, who tend to be more liberal.

I am not reading this thread but I don't think the divide between conservatives and liberals in college are as big as the OP suggest.

I think in most instances the side that shows they are offended are usually gonna win in the end. Say what you will about the left but they are not afraid to be vocal. Conservatives have become a bunch of scared pussies who are afraid to speak their minds in fear of being called a racist or homophobe or sexist.

Sure, they'll start a thread on a message board or Facebook post to complain about some perceived injustice but what the frick does that actually do? Not a got damned thing.

I was liberal in college too.

When you start paying bills and taxes, have kids and a wife, you go to the right. When you see the world a bit more, get divorced, marry again, and you reach your 40s, you start swaying a bit back to the middle. Then it is a coin flip daily. Some people, a tad more conservative, others to the left.

In the grand scheme of things . . . it really doesn't have much to do with your life unless you let it. so, stop letting it.

My solution: Stop watching the news and delete news apps and twitter (dumb anyway) off your phone, only visit Facebook - and other forms of social media - once a week. Go fishing and leave your phone in the car. Go to a bar with your buddies and leave your phone in the car. Go out on a date with your kids and your wife/girlfriend AND LEAVE YOUR PHONE IN THE CAR. Get your mind off this shite - which isn't very important to begin with - and live your life.

I believe everyone is somewhat liberal until they receive their first paycheck. The shock of how much is missing leads to anger later in life when you see the governemnt waste.

It all comes back to money and wanting to keep what you earn.

Professors have a lot of influence on college kids. When someone who is intelligent, well spoken, and respected like Condoleeza Rice is invited they throw a hissy fit and demand she be uninvited. But Ahmadinejad is welcome. A hate mongering, oppressive regime leader who has called for the death of Israel and America.

Trust me this isn't true at all. And the rest of that paragraph is comical.
