I was born in 1949.. Grew up on a cattle ranch and knew a great many things my townie friends did not. But nobody ever talked about homosexuality. Might have been the end of innocence in 1967 for small towns in America.

Front ender, you will get all the health and social security benefits. The back end BB's are pretty much screwed.

I don't remember people talking about it as much as you knew who was gay and who was not. PDA for gay or straight just did not exist and there was not all the "drama" we have today about sex. God forbid I grew up in an era where we actually had privacy and the government and your neighbors were not in you affairs. We really do live in the Big Brother age.

Congrats on statistically having 12 years left to live

Im 100% with you on this one Grits. Im not sure I like where things are heading as far as privacy. We really need to take a step back.

I was born in 1964 and will be 50 a week from today. I was born in the last year of the baby boomer generation. This world sure has changed alot since I was a kid, some for the better, some worse.
I had a pretty good friend in the 80s' that was gay. Super nice guy, loved to party, and had some hot girl friends. I don't know what happened to him, as I met him through my best friend and we all hung out together. I guess the moral of the story is, I try not to judge, tolerant on this issue as I have a half brother that is gay. I just don't like it thrown in my face like ESPN did.

I had high hope the EFF would have more power back when we were working on issues in the 80's but corporate america and the republicans seem to want to know everything about everybody while keeping their own secrets. Really is a double standard but kids will not fight for rights they have inherited. Now I am just too old to keep fighting when the younger generation will not pick up the slack.

Nothing wrong with that. It shouldn't be "yea or nea" situation anyway.
I dont like the mislabeling of folks as bigots for having a dissenting view that is that innocuous.
I have always been very conservative, politically and socially, but things change, and that ensuing discourse is what makes "us" great,

I agree 100%. And I don't think it's really a persons views that make them a bigot anyway. It's discriminating against someone different than you that makes you a bigot. In other words, thinking homosexuality is immoral or unnatural doesn't make you a bigot; but if you treat someone who is homosexual badly because of your views, that is what makes a person a bigot. It's the action, not the thought. Just my opinion.

Pretty simple.
It is not they did all that live stuff but it was so over the top. outside of weddings who mashes cake in your SO's face? Gay or straight, cake mashing is dumb. It is like the Gatorade bath, it has been done to death and just give free advertising to Gatorade.
(Yeah, I am pro maroon coolers person YKWIM)

I applaud you for at least taking a highbrow approach to bashing Mizzou during the last few days.
Thanks Grits.

Not sure I understand? Have not been bashing Sam as I think he will actually make out like a bandit with the situation. As for the draft post I had Mizzou near the top? Not sure where you think "highbrow bashing" is occuring?
