Fraternities at Mizzou

I was going to post a thread about this weeks ago, but didnt because I figured that it would be weird. However, someone just posted the same thing for Alabama, so I'll just do it now.
So, which are the "top" frats at Mizzou? I have already done an informal rush with Alpha Gamma Sigma, and plan on doing the same for Sigma Nu this weekend. What other frats should I try to rush or get to know? Also, what are your opinions of the ones listed above?

Alabama has one of the largest, if not the largest Greek organizations in the country. They run the University and have far reaching influence in most all political affairs on campus.
I don't know anything about Mizzou greeks - but a word of advice regarding rush. Visit several fraternities, get to know the rush chairman, find the one you feel most comfortable. Your fraternity brothers will be your family. They will be life-long brothers.

Really just depends what kind of person you are. Everyone has their preferences based upon how much they have in common with certain houses. Are you currently in high school?

I would suggest that you don't feel too much pressure to rush immediately. As someone who graduated with a lot of honors in high school, I struggled some my first semester because I wasn't mature enough to handle all of my newfound freedom. This can be exacerbated when you have to fulfill pledgeship duties. Obviously the temptation is to join up ASAP, and that's perfectly acceptable and works for a lot of people, but if you aren't 100% sure by the time fall rolls around, there is nothing wrong with waiting a semester or even two to find the right fit. Just go into it with an open mind and don't be afraid to explore all the options.

That being said, if you really want to get a feel for the "top houses", you'd be better to network with people you might already know at Mizzou and guys from your high school that went greek. Likely all you'll get over a message board is a bunch of guys pumping you their own house without getting an objective opinion on the matter.

Well, judging by the fans y'all brought to Oxford I wouldn't say you have anything resembling Greek life.

I don't doubt you may have interacted with folks who made you feel that way, but greek life is actually very big at Mizzou.
28% of undergrads are greek (7,500+) with 31 IFC fraternities and 15 sorority houses.
Mizzou has the 4th highest percentage of fraternity men in the SEC behind Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas.

Precisely the opposite. Mizzou has a great ratio for guys. Most sororities average 300+ members here. Fraternities don't really get larger than 150ish.
In the fall of 2013, exact number of Greeks were as following.
Women: 4,335 in 15 houses
Men: 3,107 in 31 houses
1.4 womenz for every 1 guy

Bama ain't got shite on Mizzou's greek system. Mizzou has 70 greek organizations to Bama's 63. Greektown at Mizzou is one of the largest in the country.
