Now there is no consistancy and again I have no idea when LSU will play Missouri.
It's only been expanded for 2 yrs. Hardly any length of time to make definitive statements that it won't be worked out.

Unfortunately, your AD does.

No one besides the fans of those teams care about those games.
Yet, Lsu's Ad is in a very small minority in wanting to eliminate them.
It would seem, that nobody cares that Lsu wants to adjust the conference to their benefit.

That's the nature of college ball. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.
So that means it's not worth trying something new? Status-quo foreva!!

1999, a year that worked out for Bama saw them go to the Swamp and get Tennessee. It was good that State was the only competition for the West crown that year. I don't like that the schedule makers can make or break champions. It's hardly an unreasonable position.

Traditional rivalries set college ball apart. I would seriously lose some interest, if traditional rivalries are lost.
Enough to stop watching? I doubt it.

I doubt that. He's just one of few people in the SEC not scared of uat.

I don't live and breathe football.
I've not watched it some seasons before. If traditional rivalries were lost, it would be harmful to college ball, imo. I think it hurt when Nebraska moved to the B1G, I think the Longhorns and Aggies not playing hurts it. It's not the pros.

Nonsense. I have no idea when LSU is going to play Missouri for instance. Now that there are 14 teams, games with SC,Ga and Tenn will be more sporadic.
Only 6 of them matter. You can predict pretty easily when you'll play one of the other 6 SEC-W teams...every single year. You can predict when you'll play your permanent opponent...every single year. That's 7, and you can't play yourself, so that's 8. Subtract that from 14 and that leaves 6 teams on the annual rotation. After the bridge schedule is done, you should be able to predict, with basic math, when you'll play each of the 6 SEC teams you don't normally play every year. They're not going to be randomly generated.

[Head explodes]
Who were they at a competitive disadvantage to? Florida was better than Tennessee. Most of the Western division was very down at the end of the 90s - MSU was arguably the most accomplished team from the west for a two year stretch. Auburn won 8 games combined between 98 and 99. LSU won SEVEN games combined between 98 and 99. That is terrible.
What would be wrong with just counting division games for the respective division championships? That would render the out of division rotation debates mostly moot and make competition within the division pretty equitable

Lsu AD - other SEC AD's aren't being fair.
Alleva is fighting the good fight, but he's finally realizing that certain schools don't care about completive balance. he's correct that it's a shortsighted position for them to take but there's only so much you can do when dealing with ignorance.
Or when dealing with SEC and NCAA officials lining up to kneel before saban with their mouths open.

Believe it or not, UA doesn't have powers like the Russian mafia, nor does it dictate everything in the SEC.

Nah. You have to think AM, Ole miss, vandy, Kentucky, and Miss State are happy with theirs. Then you have four schools in the traditional Matchups who don't want it to change. 9 of 14 right there.

And nothing is keeping Texas A&M and Texas from playing one another as OOC game except their own stubbornness.

I'll believe Alleva cares about competitive balance when he addresses the fact that LSU doesn't have an in state BCS school to compete with for recruits.

yeah it basically is at this point.
the sooner you realize that the better off you will be.
oh and opposing competitive balance is a completely ludicrous position to take.

Alleva has no authority to create additional BCS schools in Louisiana
If you want to add Tulane back to the SEC, be my guest

Why not just have 20, seven or eight team conferences then? Or just man up and win the games.

Let me clarify.
IMO division record should be used to determine the champion from each division unless there is a two way tie. If two or more teams from the same division have the same record in division play then and only then should SEC results against teams from the opposite division be considered.

But you don't hear anyone else crying about it. He could limit the number of Louisiana recruits that LSU gets, I mean since he is all for competitive balance and the good of the SEC
