There's no reason it shouldn't alternate between Atlanta and New Orleans.
How about the fact that Georgia Tech (located in Atlanta) and Tulane (located in New Orleans) withdrew from the SEC, so the SEC shouldn't be financially supporting the economies of these two cities that are now considered enemy territory.

I don't think that's it.
I think those of you who are closer to Atlanta are in favor of its frequent and continued usage; while those who live outside of its geographical proximity would like for the conference to explore other options--if for no other reason than to see what else could work.
I'm someone who enjoys traveling & flies frequently to see the Ags play--from NY to Nebraska to California to South Bend to Columbia this fall--I'm a fan of mixing things up, rather than doing the same thing repeatedly.
But I understand that others prefer doing what's always been done.

And we should never play the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa or Auburn because Shelton State and Southern Union are in both of those areas

re: Slive's love affair with Atlanta (Posted on 3/15/14 at 10:55 am to EKG) Only , TXAM and MIZZ have to fly to ATL, All other fan bases are less than 7 hours drive time. So it is more easy to travel to. You could feasibly leave NO in the morning and still make It to Atlanta in time for a game. Avg cost of gas round trip for a single vehicle under $200.
I've flown to ATL from Nola for around $110 round trip. Much easier than driving too. Flights there are pretty reasonable if you get them in advance

Either A) you're trolling or B) you're far too dumb to be taken seriously.

Would be fun to see the SECCG rotate. Why shouldn't it?

People seem to fail to realize it's not JUST about the game. That week there are dozens of events that take place, and you also have SEC Fan Fare in the Georgia World Congress Center right next door. How many cities have all those kinds of facilities right next to each other?

NOLA has strip clubs right around the corner. Should count for something if they can ensure the right stadium lighting

Most (all?) larger cities do.
I'm honestly starting to question whether or not many folks in the SEC are accustomed to traveling or regularly see much of the country (and world) beyond Georgia, Alabama. Mississippi, etc.
That's not intended to be an insult; it's an observation. Because some of the reasons behind keeping most SEC events in ATL are silly. Why not be honest, and just say, "I live closer to Atlanta than I do any of the other options that have been tossed around?"

That'd be the tits. Arguably the three most fun cities in the south right there.

Nashville's convention center is next to Bridgestone Arena, which is several blocks and the river away from LP Field.
New Orleans Convention Center is over a mile away as well.

Thats why they have had 7 Super Bowls

New Orleans Convention Center is over a mile away as well.

2013 was New Orleans' 10th Super Bowl, and it's 11th is likely coming in 2018.
