I'd throw Memphis in this rotation. It's in a central location and fun town when events are going on

Could be worse. Could be shot for no good reason, like a certain fan base.

Edit: Got a link to where an LSU fan robbed anyone, or threw a piss balloon?

That's what I thought.

Move basketball and baseball to Memphis.

New Orleans is a SEC town as LSU owns LA
Atlanta is a SEC town as Georgia owns GA
Nashville is an SEC town as both Vanderbilt and Tennessee own TN

Memphis has Memphis as the town team. No matter anything else, unless the Vols move from Knoxville to Memphis it just seems gross.

You don't know much about Memphis then. Memphis is a huge SEC town.

Ole Miss' largest alumni base is from Memphis IIRC. The Tigers are sort of a second favorite team for a lot of SEC fans in the city.

Great basketball town.

But no SEC in town. If that FedEx guy offers say the B12 millions to add Memphis to the B12 it would look funny for the SEC to host baseball or basketball there. It sounds good at first but the long term has issues.

LSU and A&M fans deserve Houston as a rotating SEC location.

The distance between Memphis and Ole Miss is about the same as UGA to Atlanta.

Vandy, Alabama, Mississippi State are all 3 hours away

Arkansas is 5 hours away

Knoxville is 6 hours away, but they have a huge fan base in the city

Lexington is like 7 hours away

I am okay with all that, but still no SEC team in the city. When Louisville was in the Metro it was still a UK town. YUM is a great place to catch a ballgame. Louisville has lots to see and do. If suddenly the SEC made YUM the fixed basketball site it would feel the same as FedEx getting the fixed SEC basketball.

Birmingham, the home of the SEC offices, is somehow never considered. HRMMMMM

Maybe they'll do the baseball tourney at the Barons' new park one year.

Except Louisville isn't really a SEC central location. Plus as much of a home advantage Kentucky gets in Nashville and Atlanta, playing in Louisville wouldn't even be fair.

The Fedex Forum is one of nicest arena's in the NBA. Host of the AAC championship and 2nd NCAA regional in like 5 or 6 years.

Except basketball schools UK, VU, UT, UAF, and MU are all close. Louisville maybe the closest SEC city to the Tigers if they hosted.

Cheese Grits ... would you mind me asking where you live?
I'm curious to know how your thoughts fall in-line with your location.
Seems like your situation is pretty representative of the average SEC fan (not that you're average ).

SEC Football Champ game should be alternated between Atlanta and New Orleans. When a West team is home, it needs to be in a West city.

I agree with this and always have.

However the east mafia plus Bama and Auburn will keep the game in Atlanta forever. There's no reason it shouldn't alternate between Atlanta and New Orleans.

Other than the fact it doesn't really make much sense

Usually they fall outside of those around me. I try to listen to feedback from multiple locations and try to think which would best serve the conference as a whole. When I see outliers wanting a host close to home I get that, but it may not make the best situation for the majority. When I see teams that do not travel well wanting to host I tend to go the opposite way as it appears to approach lazy habits. When I see teams that do not even support the home team @ home it makes me think they are the ones who need to travel.

With family in pretty much every SEC state I get to see many views.

That was a very diplomatic non-answer.

Part of my family are Tiger fans and part are Tide fans. You learn diplomacy early on just to survive family dinners.

Actually I work to police both sides of politics which makes me unpopular with both sides.
