What the hell are you rambling about at this point?

Whitfield has worked with Manziel the last two offseasons. I understand both sides of this but you can guarantee programs will use it to negative recruit QBs against Auburn and you can bet kids and parents will listen to that pitch.

Because it's clear that Gus is an egomaniac. He has gotten where he is on his own. Never consulting other coaches, and has clearly stuck to one mentality his entire career. He is so unimaginative that he will soon lobby for rule changes because he can't keep up.

AU is the one school in the SEC with a Heisman winning QB in the last decade. Period. Gus does a good job with the types of players he brings in.
I knew you were a dumbass, but damn.

and Stabler was Oakland's all-time leader in completions (1,486), passing yards (19,078),
Jason Campbell has 15 or 16 thousand yards in his NFL career and Cam already has 11 or 12 thousand after 3 years

He still has yet to develop a single high school QB recruit that's worth a shite though.
Question: Has he been anywhere long enough to develop a high school QB? I don't think so.
Oh....... JJ will be the first QB he's had in his program from recruit, to backup, to starter. Let's see how he does before we pass judgement.

That was a different game?

Auburn runs a unique offense that Whitfield does not teach. Marshall has to run Gus's offense and malzahn does not want someone else teaching fundamentals that do not necessarily translate to what Auburn is trying to do. once Marshall gets ready to go pro, then he is free to do what he wants, but then he wont be touching Gus's shite. Im down with the Gus Bus.

Ironic coming from the Saban to Texas clan.

"You're seeing flashes of some of those throws," Whitfield said. "He's with, arguably, one of the best quarterback coaches on the planet with what coach Malzahn has done and what he can do with different body types, different models of guys."
Whitfield summed it up himself, but feel free to keep questioning Gus. We appreciate the concern, really.

Whitfield works an individual player's skill set, confidence, endurance, footwork, range of motion, timing, speed of decision making, etc.--the kind of stuff that's universal to all offenses.

A perfect recruiting pitch for a school that doesn't win or even play for championships like A&m

Ok, I also can see both sides of the issue. In Gus's defense he just hired a QB guy on the staff. A guy that has his own QB camps I believe. So I can see why Gus would want to keep it in house. Not sure how he can really stop a kid that attends a camp on his own dime though???
Thanks EKG and Shane for the reply. I really was curious what other coaches are doing.

They could hire Bert, he's a qb guru. Oh wait, he didn't have a back up ready last year .

I see the problem now. You've got a serious comprehension problem, if you actually read that paragraph to mean that.
well considering the context of the argument and the actual comment, it seems you have severe comprehension issues. Maybe Whitfield teaches that as well

This makes more sense then. That coach can be the point man on all the QB recruiting which I'm sure will combat negative recruiting, and malzahns track record speaks for itself as well. Also I don't think Sumlin tells our QBs to go to Whitfield necessarily, he just doesn't stop them from doing so. Manziel is the only one I know of that has gone, I haven't read about Joeckel Hill or Allen
