Wow, what a tool.
Vandy, where academics come second.
Give me a fricking break.

Is this guy really trying to say Penn St is more about academics than football and Vandy is more about football than academics? Does he really believe his own bullshite?
He is going to be a fantastic HC.

One of those schools has an athletic department and it's not Vanderbilt. hmmm

This is him trying to win over the Paterno people.

I all of the sudden don't like Franklin now and hope he melts under the JoePa spotlight and fails miserably. What a complete douche Franklin is.

I'm pretty sure "win at all cost" is why Paterno and his ilk allowed a serial child predator on their campus and facilities until shite hit the fan. What a joke of a man. He'll fit in well at Penn State.

When asked about the difference between Vanderbilt, his former employer, and Penn State, Franklin said values. At Vanderbilt, which is in the SEC, Franklin says the top priority was always football.

Coach Speech
some of the dumbest coach speech ever
if he was coming from an actual football school it may make sense.
but he is coming from Vandy.
If academics suddenly became secondary at Vandy as of late wouldn't that mean Franklin was a major part of that cultural shift?

Penn State has better morals than Vandy . Does he think before he speaks because it seems there is no filter.

He forgot covering up pedophilia, didn't he? I like Frankin, but he should STFU. Damn Yankees.
For me it is painful watching Vandy's recruiting class go kerplunk. I liked them being competitive. Oh well!

Franklin needs to lay off the krokodil or whatever the hell he's on.

And the Big Ten idiots who try to rest their laurels on academics when they can't win football games.
I doubt he honestly feels that way -- since it's a breathtakingly stupid thing to say given the schools he's comparing -- and I bet he's probably speaking more about the differences between the SEC and Big Ten than the actual schools themselves and just worded it extremely poorly.
If not, he's the dumbest motherfricker who ever lived.

Here is the video of his appearance. (Check around 11:25)
I don't blame you for trusting your link, but she totally botched his comment. He was saying that Vanderbilt had high academic standards and that was a challenge in football culture of the SEC. Feel free to disagree with that, but he definitely wasn't saying that Vandy was a football factory and it's great to be at a place like Penn State where there's an emphasis on academics.

Sounds pretty much exactly what I was saying in my post above:
