If Florida had not had as many injuries, they could have done much better

Driskel would have been really good under Meyer's offense

quote:Y'all need a legendary RB class. I have a hard time remembering the last season UF had a running game that could put the fear of god into an opponent. Even when you had those killer passing attacks under Spurrier you had a beast RB to balance it out.
He was getting ready to land a legendary WR class for UF, before his exit.
Now?

I agree we have missed a ton of good backs for one reason or another. Spiller would have been unbelievable with Tebow and Percy. I still can't believe he went to Clemson.

JD is getting something similar and I believe that Muschamp will not be in the way if he ever was.

He has an 8 million dollar buyout. He's not going any where.

I hope he has a good year. To the rest of the Gators... GFY

Florida should start 3-0 easily (a GA Southern type repeat notwithstanding), but then they run the gauntlet:
at Bama
at UT (who should by all accounts be improved)
vs LSU
vs Mizzou
vs UGA in Jacksonville
at Vandy (who I assume will be down somewhat)
vs SCe
vs EKU (the only other "sure" win on the schedule after the first 3)
at FSU
I think they could return to 2011 and win a lot of games with defense, but I can also see them finishing 6-6 with reality probably being something like 8-4. My best guess is they lose to Bama, LSU, FSU, and one of SCe and UGA. But I wouldn't count out UT, Vandy, or Mizzou in any of the 3 games.

Losing to GA Southern was bad and not acceptable but a walk-on LB started that game. That'll give you an idea of how bad the injury bug hit. Yes, we still should have beaten them.
Fun fact: Georgia Southern had more players unable to play due to injury than UF. Sorry to rub it in, but for that game, the injury excuse only makes it worse.

I didn't realize how brutal their schedule is. Chomp might be in more trouble then I thought.........

$8 million buyout is true.
All you other Gator fans who want Champ gone last year didn't see the bigger picture
We're going back to the Meyer spread with Roper & if it gets rolling then we will be elite once again.

Brutal assessment by ESPN, fwiw.

Here is how they graded Florida:
OFFENSE: F
DEFENSE: A-
SPECIAL TEAMS: C
OVERALL: F
Here is some of what they said:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's rare that a team with the caliber of defense like Florida's is as bad as the Gators were, but they were an absolute train wreck on offense and went into every game with no margin for error. It didn't help any that they were 12th in the SEC in turnover margin. There's no question that injuries gutted this team, but there's no excuse for losing to Georgia Southern or being as limited as Florida has been on offense, really, for the past two seasons. It all caught up to the Gators in 2013 and resulted in their first losing season since 1979. The pressure is squarely on Will Muschamp to turn it around next season ... or else.

After next year it is $6 million. It is big, but if he has to go this is isn't going to hold UF back. In the grand scheme of things this gets paid out over a few years and is not that big of a deal.

Yes. Hence why I said we should have never lost to them.
You don't have to be sorry for rubbing it in. You are a Vanderbilt fan. You don't get that opportunity but once every 25 years or so.

We're not used to playing a GA school that knows how to win titles and big games.

UF IS GOING BACK TO THE SPREAD.
Where you been? Under a fat girl?

Roper runs an offense that is very similar to what Meyer ran back in the day
