On a separate note do you guys agree with the philosophy that unless an OG is elite (Minshew/Womack) you should take HS OT and turn them into OG?
I don't really think there needs to be any set formula for that. It usually tends to work out that way on its own, but high school offenses vary so widely that it's tough to say that you should always recruit HS tackles. Some coaches will put their best OLs at guard

Uncoachable and does his own stuff.

I watched Baker's film and was not impressed. He is stiff and doesn't play very fast. Wynn and Sims had much better film.
I preferred Baker over Sims imho.
Tbh I thought neither was a 4* type player like Wynn.

Bobo is a charismatic redneck who also knows everyone involved in GA high school football, especially in south Georgia. At least that's his rep
This is a good reputation for him. His uncle and dad were involved in GA hs football I believe.

It just seems like he has trouble connecting to prospects at times.
I think it's 3 things.
1. Lack of success of his OL
2. Lack of spark.
3. Coaches don't have experience with him like other OL coaches.

UGA offered former LSU LB Lorenzo Phillips, now of EMCC.
LSU fans think it's pretty much a lock he goes back to LSU. Only left b.c. of academics.

Bobo was at Carroll county schools last week.
Can someone explain why UGA would want him? What would his role be?
I've thought USCe was the leader for Key the entire time.

I'm hearing reports that Key is enjoying his recruiting process, and that his list is in order, but BACKWARDS, and that USC is actually #1. After Key put out his tweet, UGA's 24/7sports' Rusty Mansell picked USC as his crystal ball pick, and no one else has changed their picks.

I don't like the early signing period idea. I don't see how the athlete wins. It seems like all the upside is for the schools and coaches, who don't need protection.

I like this development, especially since his dad was the one pushing UGA interest in the first place, at least that was the rumor. His dad is the Titans' WR coach.

hell yeah. Finally had some time on my hands.

He's good at running back is the main reason. Running back at UGA is a tough sell with our depth, so he's a really good option.
He has a different skillset than anyone UGA has, so there could easily be snaps available for him. He's a good compliment to what UGA has on campus.
Another bonus is that younger players like and respect Kamara as a player, so it helps to have a guy like that as part of a recruiting class.

Its a double edge sword taking kamara. On one hand you take the bama "leftovers" as it will be viewed by some. On the other hand its a "told you so" and should've come here in the first place since Bama was not completely honest in its rrecruiting.

It would be great to get him on board so he could tell his experience at Bama and maybe sway some recruits our way.

As far as the Kamara situation is concerned, most of you guys seem to speak out of both sides of your mouth's. (This is not directed specifically at you ruckus) We cannot turn our noses up at possibly taking Alvin and at the same time complain that other SEC teams compete for national titles with UGA castoffs. Just take the Kamara situation at face value and accept it for what it is: UGA getting an exceptional talent that can help the team in multiple ways. Who really cares what circumstances led him to Athens, as long as he helps win games.

I'm all for taking left overs. I'd help break Aaron Hernandez out if he had any eligibility left.

I'm not a fan of taking Kamara. I don't think he'll ever do anything for us. I wasn't much of a fan of his coming out of HS and I am still not. He isn't bad, but he isn't anything special either.
I'm expecting we'll only take one RB this year and I'd much prefer that to be Johnny Frasier or Bryce Love or 3-4 other backs before we get to Alvin on my list. I do expect Kamara will be the guy though, luckily we can have a throwaway year at the position with as stacked as we are. Hopefully he left his bitchy attitude in Tuscaloosa and it was only because he didn't get along with Burns and not because of PT...because I have a feeling he won't get much more in Athens.

Not coming and I think Kamara fits whta we do better than Love.
Kamara has great hands and offers Bobo a real passing weapon out of the back field. Plus I really wany uga to lock down that Norcross area pipeline and I think having Kamara and Carter helps.

That may be, but a tiger doesn't change its stripes, so what is to say he won't do the same thing here?

Are you "in the know" what happened at Alabama?
I am not. I've heard some conflicting things but it's all conjecture.
Until then, I'll trust CMR not to bring in the poison pill you are suggesting he is.

Not any more than whats been printed, as is everyone else here. But when he does such stuff as publicly bad-mouth and all, that is kind of concerning, is it not?

This
No one really knows the full story but the word on the street is he told a few potential Bama recruits not to believe the recruiting pitches they were given. I feel he has a right to express his opinion because he was probably sold a bill of goods. Why else would a guy commit when they had 3 other backs in the Top 50 on board. That being said, he made his own bed so it's essentially his own fault. I think the only reason bama took his commitment was to keep him out of the hands of UGA. They had more depth than anyone yet still took 4 backs and that essentially backfired on them but last year it proved to be an effective strategy because if we had Kamara we may have played a little better with Gurley out.
