I don't think he's anything more than a practice body. Too much everydown talent coming in/on the roster for him to see PT, imo.

I can't wait to see some of the kids we've signed the last couple of years(this recruiting cycle too) on the field. SO frickING LOADED.

I disagree. Pettway was a disruptive playmaker in big moments on multiple occasions when he got into the game as a freshman.

You're dead wrong about that. He's a hoss! He'll be getting plenty of snaps by the time we get to the meat of our schedule next year. I'd have loved to have had him against Auburn this year.

On the one hand I think it's a terrible decision to let him represent UA after the horrible crime he was involved in (on a student no less!)
On the other hand, he's probably the type of guy you need to go after all these other school's criminals. (Auburn, Georgia, Bama, LSU, Florida, FSU, Vandy, Tenn, etc.)
Saban's going to need to start recruiting in prisons pretty soon.
Why don't we drop the facade of these guys being student athletes, we have enough trouble keeping them out of jail or arrested for rape. No need to act like Pettway is going to be an honor roll student who graduates in 3.5 years.

It's too easy to generalize about the academic capabilities/intentions of college football players. Sure, more of the kids from Ala. will be in the NFL than from the avg. school, but most won't and realize that, and many of the ones that will, value their education.

How is that being a drama queen? We don't need the kid. He's not a transcendant talent. Why make yourself look bad for a kid who is easily replaced with another talented player?

Because we dont know the full details of what went down. Why act like you are disgusted over this decision when you have no true knowledge of all of the details? Saban thinks that he can stay on the right track, and he wants to see the kid turn out right.
