Honestly, lsu fans are the worst about psychoanalyzing Saban. The fact that he coached there for a few years made you all Pscycology PhD's with insight into what makes him tick.

Whatever - I know the guy is an egomaniac of the highest order - most guys at the top of their profession are, but he just seems worse than most. And this is about his ego and I'll admit, I don't know exactly what it will take to satisfy it. But for Bama fans to pretend this isn't a possibility - they are in as much denial as possible - he's thinking about it, contemplating and his agent is working on the "what ifs", right this very moment.

That much, I know.

You're probably the most level headed logical LSU poster on this subject. I can't disagree with just about anything you said.

I try to look at things logically from an outsider's standpoint. I don't know Saban but my dad's is friends with a major player in Alabama athletics and I know Saban is very satisfied and comfortable where he is and actually enjoys the UA job and Tuscaloosa. On the other hand, I can definitely see the appeal of the Texas job. The timing is absolutely perfect for a move to Texas. Quite honestly he has done everything you could possibly do at Alabama and I don't honestly know what he would have left to prove there. While they enjoy and are comfortable in Tuscaloosa, Austin and the UT job would be intriguing to any coach and the fact that it is a rebuilding job probably appeals to Saban. I've mentally prepared myself for him leaving soon anyway (Texas or no Texas) so I won't be crushed if he does. I just want a smooth transition and as much of the staff to be kept together.

P.S. It amazes me that people think Alabama will fall apart and got back to the Dubose/Shula days the second Saban leaves. I mean no disrespect to LSU but if you guys didn't fall off after Saban left then I don't see Alabama falling off either. It's amazing so many people think that will happen though.
