I did about a year ago but not anymore. They took their ball and ran home to mommy.

Now, down the road I could see us missing that guaranteed win on the schedule. When we move to the 9-game SEC schedule eventually, those cupcake games will be even more valuable. So there's that.

I'd prefer we keep it at 8-game sched.
I'd like to also play Illinois every year.

Moving to the SEC was like a nice long hot shower for Mizzou and served as a fresh start to build a new future.
Wow. Perfectly said!

I would too - but I think it'll eventually go to 9 games. I also think we'll eventually have 16 teams too.
And I loved those Illinois games! I liked that football series - but they didn't want to play it anymore, right?

Illini going 0-8 against us probably helped them decide not to renew.
I'm beginning to see how playing the lower 2/3rd of Big Ten (i.e. cupcakes) would help recruiting. Kids in Big Ten country just have to see, it's a slow-mans conference. And wait until they see B10 not finish in Top 4.
Mizzou is closes drive to play in SEC, that is unless you want to play for basketball school like UK.

Yes.
It was a real rivalry, one born out of hatred. One where you loved watching the other lose no matter who beat them.
I don't care about any of the SEC teams in that fashion. I don't care about any of the SEC rivalry games. I miss actually caring about the teams opponent (one way or the other). In my opinion the game versus kansas should be played in every sport. In football it could just replace the FCS team - same quality but we wouldn't have to pay them to come get beat.
Don't mistake this for regret about the move to the SEC. There is no regret about the move, it was by far a great decision for MU. But to deny the hatred between the two schools and fan bases is a disservice to everyone.

You mean next year, in a playoff situation? Isn't the B1G champ assured a spot in the playoff?
And yes, I think our in to B1G country is to sell the SEC, and us as the best SEC destination, geographically speaking. Seems to me that could be very effective.

I thought that I would miss the ku games (football and basketball)...but it turns out that I don't. I haven't thought about them at all. The SEC is so much more exciting.

I would rather have a sister working in a whore house than a brother winning the Heisman Trophy at kU.
That being said, I would like to play them at Arrowhead the last game of the season. In basketball, I want to beat them in the NCAA Tournament and send their sorry asses home.

I really am torn here on this one. I grew up and spent my childhood hating kU. Went to Mizzou (mid 90's) and hated kU. That one football game a year and those 2 bball games were circled every year and we waited in anticipation just for those dates to come around. I loved those games and I do hope we can play those types a games again at some point. Dont get me wrong, I am really happy with the move to the SEC and the football is 10x better than the big 12 but there is not that one game a year that if we win or lose we will look back on and smile to ourselves or get so god damned pissed that we want to throw something. I look back on it now and I never cared how good they were or how bad they were at any time we played kU in either sport. I just wanted us to go out there and beat the shite out of them regardless. That is what I miss about kU. I do hope we can find some sort of game like that in the SEC or maybe just maybe our little friends to the west will come back and play us again in the future.

This is as strong a first post as we've seen.

I miss it sometimes, being a KC guy. My brother is a Jayhawk fan and several friends are, so I miss being able to jawjack with them about the games.
I absolutely take pleasure in their abomination of a football program and will root for them to lose every basketball game I see them playing.

Yes. Without a doubt. Rivalries like that should never die. I have spent a lot of time trying to raise my children right and to hate jayhawks. What's the point if we never play them.

First, kansas or kU should never be capitalized as there is nothing proper about the God forsaken land to the West.
Second, the games against the jayturds in BB or FB were circled on the calendar all year as sort of a special day to teach my boys what it means to be a Mizzou fan.
