Have you ever met Kirby Smart in your life? Have you ever had a conversation with him? Do you know anyone who actually knows him in real life? Do you know how he's viewed in the coaching community and/or by athletic administrators? If you could answer "yes" to any or all of the above questions your view would be different.

I'm not saying Kirby is the next HC at Bama or even that I want him to be. I am saying the man is not yet 40 and he's making $1M+ per season. He's in a position to wait for the PERFECT opportunity - particularly if he thinks that opportunity comes in 4 years or less.

I hope y'all hire him...will show y'all have learned absolutely nothing from the Saban hire....Kirby may be the second coming of bill belicheck but by refusing to go out on his own he's painted himself as a scared toddler.

1 mil is nothing for a hc now ulls coach makes about that and smart could do way better than that. It's just what you do if you are a young up and coming champion you get out of the shadow. That is assuming you have the stones to do so
