He will get a look, no doubt. I know a lot of Bama fans aren't crazy about that. I think it would depend on the context in which Saban left, too.

I know Kirby thinks it's his job when Saban leaves.

Bama will likely be attractive to a lot of top candidates, though, so Kirby isn't likely the slam dunk to get it that he thinks he is.

That said, a lot of schools have had success moving an asst into the HC role (Chip Kelly, Chris Peterson, and David Shaw all come to mind).
