I'm watching the Clemson/Ga Tech game and they play the same fight song as LSU. Both schools are Tigers and both play in Death Valley. So who stole from who?

Saints took Who Dat from the Bengals' Who Dey. So Louisiana has a history of athletic theft.

They're hand-me-down auburns.

If you refer to crime statistics, you'll see that it's not just limited to theft of the athletic variety

Clemson is auburn with a lake.

Clemson REALLY wants to be an SEC school.

There has to be some back story behind this. I can understand similar mascots, but identical Fight Songs? Which stadium was nick named Death Valley first?

Don't worry about it. The only thing you need to know is it's easier to win in the louisiana version, especially at night.

Tiger Rag was written and composed in New Orleans.

LSU is something like 40 years older than Clemson. Clemson stole their mascot, colors, etc. from Auburn. In fact, the founder of Clemson had strong ties to Auburn. Clemson was told to drop the blue so they adopted purple to go along with the orange.

You're referring to Tiger Rag, which was quite a popular tune back in its day. Just about every school called the Tigers plays it

ETA: And it isn't LSU's official fight song either

texas a&m has the same mascot as new mexico state and has won as many titles as they have in the last 70 years. las cruces > college station so i think NMSU gets the nod.

I'm pretty sure Clemson doesn't play fight for Lsu as their fight song.

So Tiger Rag isn't LSU's fight song?

weak sauce. i'd rather dress up like a soldier and put my arm around the nearest milkman and sway back and forth in my oversized tackle box.
