I actually think that's high praise for any QB
You and I both know the implication of "game manager" is he doesn't make mistakes or make big plays. He's just average and "manages" the team.
Yes in most cases, but in AJ's case he does take it to another level that exceeds the normal implication.

As is AJ

Why does anyone really care? Bama already got its token Heisman it didn't deserve. It won't get another one. If anyone votes for AJ it is because they haven't seen him play. He's not even one of the 10 best players on his own team. Who fricking cares.

Is it a stats award or a leadership award? I thought it was awarded to "the most outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with dillegence, perseverance, and hard work."
Somewhere along the line, the heisman became a beauty contest. A.J. should get invited to New York, but I doubt he is in serious contention for the award because he is more of a team player and not a glory grabber.

I guess that ends it then, just because some dumb arse fan of some redneck college says so.

Forida fans have forgotten what a good QB looks like.

Too bad for you JFF be bolting for the NFL. Life in the West is about to get pretty depressing for A&M.

If we win out and aj continues to play as he has, I think he'd be deserving of a trip to NY. Not saying he should win the award, however.

AJ has 4 games until votes have to be in. Stranger things have happened.

Winston has yet to do anything to put FSU ahead. They dominate at everything. He throws interceptions in games he has no business take chances in. Jff for heisman

Yes they are and I am tired of hearing it.

Winston has to make plays..
When? Winston has not been in a close game his entire career. But AJ is knocked for being on a great team where he does not have to win games by himself. Neither does Winston, yet he is a freshman who is about to beat a 5th year senior with potentially 3 national titles as a starter. According to most of the nation's logic, we need to see how Winston performs in a close game where he has to put the team on his shoulders before we can award him the Heisman. Which is, by the way, something AJ has done numerous times in tough games throughout his 3 years as a starter.

Many 1st year QB's have had great success in the SEC lately. There a few reasons for that, but one of them doesn't get dicussed to much. If at all.... With today's technolgy, the game of football can be studied like never before. It's tough to have multiyear success consecutively in this conference. New QB's tendenies aren't known to well until coaches have the offseason to break them down. The fact AJ McCarron has had 3 years of improvement while being very solid & winning. In a conference with unbelieve coaches, players, and resourches. Speaks volumes about his play.
Maybe one day, some will finally
Give AJ McCarron the credit he deserves

I'll give it to him. AJ's stats don't tell the full story due to the frequent domination of teams and lack of need for the stats to be put up by McCarron BUT he always seems to bring it in the big games when "bringing it" actually matters. While we are examining JFF as an example this year...how have those gaudy stats helped him in the biggest games he has played this year? Two big whiffs in the loss column! McCarron? Two home runs!
Shouldn't the results of games be a primary stat we use in determining the best player??? I think so.
