I grew up in a house divided!
Mom went to Bama - along with that whole side of the family (grandfather & cousin both played football at Bama)
Dad went to Auburn - along with thst whole side of the family
add to top it off, I grew up in Baton Rouge!
was an Auburn fan from the beginning, guess my dad got a hold of me early!!

Tea-baggers and tree killers, yep every school has some bad eggs.

For those who grew up in Alabama, how did you become a Bama or Barn fan?
My dad has been a huge fan his entire life and my mom's first cousin played for Coach Bryant. I also graduated from UA.

Funny you say that because someone posted the other day that Louisiana has a population of 4.5 million yet there is only 200k living LSU alumni. Seems like LSU has a bad case of sidewalkers as well.

first game my pops took me to was the 1992 iron bowl when I was 7. Langham became my favorite player after that pick six to start the 2nd half. been watching every game since

my story is a much simpler tale...one probably more LSU fans will resonate with. it was just the logo on the panties I came squirting out of.

You could call me an Auburn fan growing up but that changed very quickly when I went to LSU.

This is trite and you seem like a simpleton even though you claim to have graduated from U of A. Don't be upset that Alabama's law school has never really produced anyone of consequence except to inflate the ranks of a ridiculous and over bloated "profession" with more mediocrity. Our Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, and Pharmacy programs have added more value to our society than your "prestigious" law school.
You do realize that Alabama has an engineering school also? This is such a classic pathetic attempt from a barner. Instead of admitting Alabama has a good law school, you just attack the morality of the profession. Our nursing school is larger. Does that mean we can claim a moral high ground over your school?

My family are Bama grads and fans. Grew up going to Bama games so it was an easy decision for me.

LOL if you think Alabama's Engineering program is on the same level as Auburn.

sorry, couldn't help it
Funny. Something like that. Was too immature at that time and being away from home made it worse. Didn't study. Went out all the time. Got put on academic probation. Etc etc. I regret it but I learned a lot of lessons from it.

They're all pretty equivalent for undergrad if they're an ABET accredited university. Auburn's currently has a higher ranking. I see that gap closing in the next few years as Alabama is getting better students and has invested around $500 million into the program.
You totally missed the main point I was making though. We both produce engineers, so how can one claim a moral high ground over the other? How did you miss that? Alabama has a social work school. Many people view joining the profession as admirable and selfless. So, by barner logic, we're the better school yayyyyyyy! That's why I'm a Bama fan, because our social work does such good work for society!!!! Just love the good we're doing for society woooo hooooo

So its okay for a bama fan to criticize auburn's school and grads but not for an Auburn fan?
yup, you sound like the prototypical gump

I won't argue with your numbers but I assume LSU has about 20000 students. 200000 alumni seems low to me.
