Okay, I was just saying you don't NEED public transit in LA the way you do in NY and other places
you need to get out more
I've driven all over NYC and had no troubles finding places to park. Hell, IMO it is one of the EASIER cities to drive b/c Manhattan is mostly on a gird system. Maybe you were just overwhelmed.

Worst traffic that I've ever been in is on the D.C. Beltway during rush hour. Hell on Earth.
Mother of God, this

Our trains are fine if you're going anywhere within walking distance of them. They generally run on time and get you to most places that a lot of people would ever want to go. If not, you have to ride a bus... and the buses suck. The people that ride them are crazy. The drivers are crazy. Buses are just bad news.
I don't take buses. I'd rather pay for a cab.

What did I say that was wrong? NYC would be worse than LA in terms of traffic if they didn't have public transit

Do you realize how much gridlock and wasted time a good public transportation system would get rid of in LA? Driving around there sucks and it could be vastly improved.
LA used to have one of the best public transportation systems in the world until car and gas companies bought it up and dismantled it in an effort to kill competition.
same thing happened in many major cities actually.

What is your point? Or, I guess I should ask, what do you think I was saying?
I don't really have any response to your points because that's not what I was talking about at all.

My point is LA does NEED a public transportation system just as much as NYC.
It simply does not have one b/c business interests decided f-ck whats best for the city we want to force everyone to own a car.

The best public transportation system in the world will be in Texas if it ever gets approved. High speed rail from Dallas to Houston? Yes please.

It is the most traveled apon freeway system in the united States. In 2011, they had to shut down a large portion and everyone was freaking out due to the overflow of traffic else where it would cause. People just didn't use their cars for the 2 days it was closed

And for all the "conservatives" in this thread, it will also be completely financed privately.

LA has the worst traffic in the entire country which would be reduced if there was ANY type of respectable public transport

well I've driven in both quite a bit and found the traffic in LA to be much, much worse than in NYC.
Sorry but if LA had a good public transportation system it would be a much improved city.
also, part of the reason LA (and cities like Dallas and Houston) are so f-ing spread out is a direct result of the weak public transportation that was dismantled by businessmen who WANTED you to have to drive everywhere.
