How many are responsible for their conditions.. Diabetes..etc.. because of their eating habits, lack of physical activity and the likes?

If I had a business, and I knew that I had to provide insurance, I wouldn't hire these people. I would also, as a business owner, not hire people who smoke and drink excessively.

In other words, I get what you're saying. There's no easy way about. And while the government can't regulate what you do on your free time, your boss can.

There was a 60 minutes on this a while back IIRC. Smokers were PISSED that they were getting fired because the owner found out they smoked. He had it on the application. Do you smoke? Check yes or no. He made it very clear you were not allowed to smoke and work for his company, and if you were caught, you would be given a warning. If caught again, you were terminated.

You could also have exclusions put in policies that exclude things that the person brought on their self. ex: if you get type 2 diabetes from obesity, you have no coverage.

Life insurance works this way. You can't just kill yourself so that your family receives benefits.

And Gov't shouldn't "hire" them either, through entitlement programs. They should be forced to be more responsible. Not get a check for being irresponsible.
