This country has gone straight to hell since the 2000 election. I'm just going to enjoy watching the world burn.

It's simply naive to think that they still do that to this day.

It'll make our deficits worse, but make me happier so its worth it.

Free riders waste money. So we waste more money to stop it? That's silly

That's what my boss did when i jumped from cush public sector to private.

That was the only negotiation we had on my hiring was him raising my insurance stipend.

I'd say maybe not all of them, just almost all of them. Really we should do performance reviews, and anyone who fails it is inelligible for reelection. I'd say that 90-95% of these fricks couldn't pass it.

Dammit. Valid point Duke.

I just think it could maybe save some money in the long run.

I'd like to see food stamps eliminated. Instead, have markets that those individuals on the program have to go to, to get their food. They're allotted a certain amount of fruit, vegetables, meat and necessities from this market and cannot get anything anywhere else. It won't carry chips, sodas and bull crap like that.

I don't like the idea of replacing one stupid government program with another. Combining Obamacare with the current allowances given to EBT cardholders is the pinnacle of hypocrisy though. I have to pay for some obese 26 year old mother of 5's insulin shots, but she doesn't have to do anything to get rid of her adult onset diabeetus.

It'd be the same basically. Only they wouldn't have cards to sell for cash, they could only get fruits, vegetables, meat and things like cooking oil, necessities in person and only an allotted amount. It'd decrease spending on food stamps, imo.

i don't mind it when there are checks and balances. there's another board i frequent where a lady posts on some board called cafemom where women go to bitch about life and she re-posts from there for our amusement. there's a specific forum for women on welfare, and they complain that certain food stamps won't buy junk food and oven pizzas. they don't have time to cook a healthy meal with the food from stamps.

it's usually hilarious, but shows that some oversight there would go a long way.

How much would the oversight cost on an expansion of WIC?

I didn't say everyone in Congress does that; it is obvious that they don't - most are beholden to special interest groups. I said that most of the Tea Party caucus do. Look at the areas they represent and the voters have the same values/feelings.

They are true believers. That's a big part of the problem. Obviously our political system is imperfect, but name one that is. So, you have to wheel and deal to manage to get things accomplish. Outcomes are what matter, not philosophy or even what your constituents really want. The true believer isn't cynical enough to play the game.
